I love to see the Temple

3 comments:
I've been having the best time playing with the April kit from Scrapbook Circle. I've had this picture developed for a while waiting for the perfect paper. I found it! The sketch is based on one by Jana Eubank:
Okay, the background I made using a mask. (The center flower I used in my grandma's album --pictures to come--) I'm hoping to use the mask covered in shimmerz on a layout soon. More bang for your buck! Hey, I'm frugal!
Well, my kiddos need my attention, so I gotta run! Thanks for stopping by!

April sneak for Scrapbook circle

No comments:

I wanted to show you a sneak peak at the WONDERFUL April kit from Scrapbook Circle.
it's got a lot of yumminess, dear Lizzy, canvas, October Afternoon. So FUN! Go HERE for ordering information.

My friend Herman, and kickball....

2 comments:
I have a new friend...his name is Herman.....
isn't he cute?! (He's a Magic Mouse.) He came in a very cool box that I kept petting in the apple store. I think the associate thought I was crazy when I said I was going to name him...Do you do that? My car's name is Digger.....

So I'm sitting here relaxing (coloring my hair--hey I multitask! planning dinner, catching up on my google reader...) after paint stripping my DD's desk, it still needs help but I'm tired! I'll try again tomorrow. I'll share pictures....

Yesterday, we played kickball with my parents. We had SO MUCH fun!
Ella the dog kept trying to play with us, she had NO clue what we were doing but it looked fun to her!
Yes, I'm gonna scrap these! I recently received an e-mail from my friend. It made yesterday special for me. It's a long read but worth it:
Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.

I got to thinking one day about all those people on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word 'refrigeration' mean nothing to you?
How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched ' Jeopardy ' on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said , 'How about going to lunch in a half hour?' She would gas up and stammer, 'I can't. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain' And my personal favorite: 'It's Monday.' She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because People cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches.. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect!

We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet. We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.

Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of 'I'm going to,' 'I plan on,' and 'Someday, when things are settled down a bit.'

When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Rollerblades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now...go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to...not something on your SHOULD DO list. If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?

Make sure you read this to the end; you will understand why I sent this to you.

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground? Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night? Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask 'How are you?' Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head? Ever told your child, 'We'll do it tomorrow.' And in your haste, not see her sorrow? Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say 'Hi'?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift....Thrown away.... Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

Thursday--scrambled eggs, bacon, & toast?

2 comments:
Here it is Muffin day, and my boy wanted scrambled eggs, toast, & turkey bacon? Isn't change wonderful? Yesterday instead of doing my regularly scheduled gym class I did a water aerobics class, all I can say is... "ouch, my calves are talking to me today!" I'm thinking mixing it up the schedule a bit is great--I get BORED with the same ole' same ole'!

Never fear, I have something creative to share!
I had so much fun with this card. The embossing folder--LOVE it--it's from quick cuts, the stamp is from the $1 at Michael's. The stitched ribbon was something I did for another project and ended up not using it. The paper and stickers--crate paper from the November kit at Scrapbook Circle--it was SERIOUSLY one of my most FAVORITE kits!

I've been busy working on an album for my Grandma's 90th birthday. (It's in less than 2 weeks!) I had the bright idea of getting pictures from my WHOLE family on my dad's side. Uh, there are 20 cousins alone....CRAZINESS!! Thanks to my mom's face book account and some prodding I have pretty much EVERY picture. They are ordered and on their way. I'm doing something different (for me) I'm making the album without any pictures. So when they get here all I have to do is plop them on the page. It's hard for me because usually let the pictures talk to me. I'm running out of time and I am doing 40 pages! I'm using the Fancy pants family line. I'm really liking how it's turning out so far. When I get to where I can share I will!
Well, I'm off to the school to help--then to Walmart! Thanks so much for stopping by and visiting today!

tag birthday wishes

2 comments:
I'm sharing this fun little tag on the Scrapbook Circle blog today:
I was inspired by a few things a conversation with my friend Lisa, the Jillibean Soup blog, and the fact that I never have cards or tags ready for those birthday gifts! So now I'll be ready for at least ONE present before the next birthday party!
thanks for stopping by today--the weather is WONDERFUL, have the windows open enjoying the breeze that is blowing my wind chime. (I put that up this weekend too! It's only been sitting on my dryer for 2 years!) Love wind chimes....
Have a GREAT one!

Spring Break..Birthday wishes

3 comments:
This week has been my kiddos Spring Break, we've been making memories. yesterday we went to Lowe's and bought a BUNCH of plants AND a box garden. Here are the pictures of our hard labor:

DD is planting Annuals that each of the kids picked out. She dug out a bush earlier in the day--she's amazing:

I found out something pretty exciting. Lowes has a WARRANTY on their plants-for a year! If they die for whatever reason, you can return the leftover plant with the receipt and get a FULL refund! Gave me the gumption to try and do this:
I know this is really bright, I clicked it and didn't go back outside....we have strawberries, tomatoes, onions, basil, and peppers....pretty excited about this little plot of land in my VERY small backyard.....

Okay, I have something creative to share....

I used the last of my January kit...I mean every last piece on these cards--I LOVED that kit! thanks for stopping by!

Parade

7 comments:
Yesterday there was a box on my door, my kids thought it was for DH it was for ME!! It was my winnings from the blog crawl a couple of weeks ago. I won a STASH of Bella Blvd. ! it's so fun--I knew I had to combine it with the sketch from Sketchy Thursdays this week:
I flipped the sketch, and I used mist to frame the pictures, I saw this done on the Fancy Pants website yesterday and thought it was AWESOME!!
Yesterday the family went and saw:
I really liked it. two of my kiddos have read the book to, so it made it fun to compare the differences. We ate popcorn, I ate to much, my tummy is telling me today.....
Thanks for stopping by and visiting for just a bit!

Friday-field day

3 comments:
So, this morning I spent at my kids school at the field day for 5th and 6th graders. ah, it brought back memories of my childhood. (I always LOVED field days!) My mom took some FANTASTIC pictures of me in 6th grade competing, and I made a layout (a few years ago..):
Okay, so these are the pictures I took:
(notice these are ALL boys--and where my girl is...yes, that is a kid on the ground.)
I will be doing a layout, yes, I was pretty PROUD of this quiet girl who just keeps to herself. Her class sure took notice of her today (which the don't normally do.), and it made me feel good because she was happy. In the future I want to do a layout like mother like daughter, with pictures of me and her.
Thanks for letting me share a bit of personal stuff.
I came home and was exhausted. AT the field day I was in charge of the 1 lap circle run. Groups of kids would come, I would line them up and time them. Thank goodness for my smart phone I was able to download an timer app, and time the kids. (they ran out of timers for me....) Surprisingly the boys especially the 5th grade boys were lippy and LOUD. I had to whistle a few times to get the different groups attention--they were surprised that I could whistle that loud--a hidden talent that has stopped a few buses, I'm NOT kidding!--I was so happy to be done! I came home ate lunch and laid down on the couch while the kids watch reruns of the old Battlestar Galactica on Netflix.
Okay, I REALLY do have some creative things to share with you!
This layout was made with some "old" scenic route paper from my "vault" :) and the January kit from Scrapbook Circle. These pictures were so random, but it sure captured the day. Busy, beautiful and fun. Oh, did you notice the cows? They happened to be running down the road that day...RANDOM!!
Thanks for stopping by today and sharing in my joy and fun! Hope your weekend is a fun one!

Party!

3 comments:
So this morning BEFORE the gym I put most of this layout together, yes, I was impressed with myself....
You can't really tell from this picture BUT the letters are sparkly and I added a bit more on the paper itself. Believe it or not this is from Sassafras! I loved the front side with all it's letters but then I turned it over and saw this, FUN! (This was made from the kit I won just last week from the Scrappiest, it's theme is BOYS.) So fun to play with, thanks again Liz!
I just received my package from ScrapbookPal.com, they are AWESOME! You get FREE shipping on $25, pretty good, right? They also have discounted prices on new stuff! I just got some of the new distress ink colors by ranger from them. Can't wait to play!
Well the dogs are barking to be let in, so I best do that! Take care and thanks for stopping by!

AND the winner is......

My take on 2 sketches this week....

6 comments:
This is actually my second card from this sketch, the first is not fit to be seen by anyone.....my DD told me it wasn't as good as others while my DS said it was awesome (no he was not trying to get something from me, he just doesn't like people to be sad....) One more thing, truthfully I am not a great bow tie-er (is that a word?)
Loved working with this paper, it's actually from the November kit at Scrapbook Circle, one of my FAVORITES! The stamp I bought at Michael's for $1 and has other sentiments on it. The embossing is from Quickutz. Thanks for for stopping by! Got to go get the kids from piano and off to Joe's for DH's birthday!

Hey it's Tuesday!

I found out this morning that my layout using sketch #50 was won for the month of February at the Scrappiest! I was pretty excited--Thank you Liz!
Alright today I wanted to do a quick share of a couple of cards I made using Jillibean Soup. I had so much fun making these:
I'm not much of a stamper but I'm slowly getting more comfortable using them. I happened to have won these from the Jillibean Soup blog last year. I only used the flower once, so my challenge was to use both sets on a card. Stamping is FUN! :)
I appreciate you stopping by! Enjoy your day!
