Sketchy thursdays 9.9--Look mom no hands!

7 comments:
LOVED this sketch by sketchy thursdays today!  It just spoke to me, I had my pictures and paper out and it just came together SO fast!  I just love the radiant stripes of this pattern paper, that day on the lake was *HOT*, so glad we had enough water and we were in the water!  (I used the Splash line from Echo Park.)  these pictures make me laugh--my boy thought he was pretty fancy riding the boogie board without holding on!
the above picture is a closeup of the bubbles from the sticker sheet....
Today is another busy one, off here and there running everywhere! :)  Thanks for the visit!!

yes, I did this 3 times.  they are gifts for family members--this sketch was awesome ladies and I wanted to thank you for helping to make this gift special for my family.  I lost someone in this picture in February, she was AMAZING.  I miss her, even if I hadn't seen her in a long time.  We will celebrate her life Saturday.  Remember to tell those around you that you love them.  Take pictures of them and with them, record your memories.

sketchy thursdays 5.26--silly

I really liked the simplicity of this sketch from sketchy thursdays, left some room for interpretation...
I used the new Grandma's garden (Scrapbook Circle) for this layout.  See you can make a masculine layout with some flowers!  I took these pictures about a month ago when my kids had no soccer practice.  we went to the park to play and I brought the camera, these boys are goof balls!
I don't know if you can tell but I used some crackle paint on the center of these scalloped circle thingies...
on the clouds I used some matte accents on the clouds, looks pretty cool in person.
this is just a closeup of the title on pop dots.....I know you can't see it but I also but the matte in the center of the flowers on the green.  It's actually pretty cool, feels like the paper is embossed.
I've been trying to use of the stash that I have, hence the use of the matte accent, crackle accent glue.  I've had the matte accent for a while now, when I bought it I thought I would use a lot.  Ummm yeah, I brushed some dust off and was happy to see that it still came out of the bottle!

summer break is now in full swing, we are home from our weekend away.  we have plans let's hope that no one gets bored! :)  thanks for stopping in!

mario iz it you? sketchy thursdays 4.7

eek!  I had SO much fun with this layout from sketchy thursdays, I just took pictures of my boy on Saturday and knew I had to scrap them RIGHT away!  What's great is that I couldn't just choose one or two pictures from his "photo shoot" I could choose 4!  Funnier still is that Ella the dog DID NOT like the black thing on his face and kept trying to jump up and get it off! :)
here is my take:
I tried to get a shot that featured the "popped" picture of my son.  This was SO funny when he walked in from his birthday party.....
products used:
cardstock: core'dinations
pattern paper & embellishments, stickers: Crate paper
mist: tattered angels
jewels: glitz
letter stickers: making memories

well, I'm off on my run with Ella, I get to try out my new fanny pack water bottle holder today.  (do they still call them fanny packs?)
AND my house (outside) is getting painted today!  It only took our HOA 5 weeks to approve it and it's EXACTLY what's on the house....'nuff said.  I'm just glad it will look good.
thanks for popping in!  Have a great Wednesday!!

so I got a little messy...

This is the May GDT sketch challenge for Sketchy Thursdays
This is what I came up with:
 products used:
pattern paper: Bo Bunny
cardstock: core'dinations
mini staples: Tim Holtz
journal spots: Elle's studio
ribbon: reflections from Michaels
letter stickers: glitz
mist: tattered angels
doillie: wilton
love how the embossing folder just fit on the edge and the cool distressed look it gives the edge,  the doillie was also sprayed with glimmer mist to make it the brown color that it is.
this core'dinations paper is awesome!  The sanding was so much fun to do!

I really had fun with this layout of my daughter and her lovely horned toad friend.  I actually had one as a pet for a while, he was SO cool.  We used to put him on a remote control tank, and drive it around--HILARIOUS because he looked so serious.  I've got to get a copy of those pictures from my mom and scrap them.
I'm off and running today, so I really appreciate you stopping in for a visit!  Hope your Tuesday is AWESOME!

so I saw this sketch and knew I wanted to use it!
I found this funny photo in my stash.  I know I didn't take it, in fact I know that it came from one of the many disposable cameras we have had.  I had no idea when it was taken, but I did some super sleuthing.  I know that my middle boy took the picture, my youngest is wearing a white shirt--it must have been a Sunday.  The year?  notice the glasses my boy is wearing?  they are actually my daughter's, so that helped me figure out the year as she gets knew frames yearly.  oh, and I flipped the sketch!
I squeezed in another layout with the scraps of the Hello Sunshine kit from Scrapbook Circle.  I'm telling you it is AWESOME!  I can't even tell you my favorite thing in the kit, there are just SO many fun embellishments and papers.
*I didn't mention that the sponsor for sketchy Thursdays is Scrapbook Circle!!  you have to try and win this kit!!  I promise you will love it!*

for those that have been wondering.  the test run of the crock pot was a success!  I didn't have anything really exciting, but I had some pork chops and italian salad dressing.  put it on low and cooked it for the prescribed time--yum!

life has been SO crazy busy with soccer, a few more weeks and it will be all over.  Weird.  the weather has been so hot we turned on our air already--last year the temperature was 68 degrees--yeah it's pushing 100. yuck--not quite ready for the hotter weather.  ah, well. it is what it is.

so enjoying the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints General Conference this weekend.  being spiritually fed is awesome!
thanks for popping in! hoping you are enjoying your weekend.

Can I say SUPER fun sketch?!
a closeup of the misting....(I've used this mask of stars on another layout I will be sharing this week), I just went a little crazy with the misting, but boy is it fun to get messy!
 Closeup of the title..
This layout really came together quickly once I decided to flip it.  All of the paper is the new studio calico, the mist is a combo of shimmerz and tattered angels, the lettering is Jenni Bowlin, Making memories, and the brads are from Basic Grey.
I'm on the run today.  Off to pick up kids from piano and then to a appreciation dinner tonight at the church--Mexican--Yum!  and the the good part about it?  I don't have to fix it! :)
Thanks for checking in!

seriously goofy

I played along with sketchy Thursdays this week--yeehaw that was FUN!  I used up some more of my FANTASTIC January kit from Scrapbook Circle.  These pictures crack me up.  I'm pretty goofy, my daughter is too, but not necessarily in front of other people.  I was trying to get her to laugh...yep!
Okay there is a story with the cardstock.  I intended it to be something else.  I cut it with my cricut but it didn't cut all the way.  I saved the paper and decided it made a GREAT background paper with some paint and mist.
I've got to run, have a doggie date at the park and kiddos off the bus!  Thanks for stopping in!  Hope you have a GREAT day!

Sketchy Thursdays guest DT February 2011

11 comments:
So Saturday was VERY productive in the Scrappy department.  I finished 3 layouts!!  I had a blast working with this sketch from sketchy Thursdays and the Cosmo Cricket paper.  Besides using the sketch you had to: use a heart, use red or pink, and journal.  Easy!

here are the hearts that I used closeup, excuse the glue this little puppy kept skidding away from me it was hard to get a hold of! :)
If you have been following me very long, you know that I have been trying to use up things in my stash.  This leather frame I bought at big lots a LONG time ago, it's been sitting on my desk.  It was red, I used it!  I put pop dots on the back of this sticker so that not only is it sticking to the frame but also the paper underneath.
Another cool idea that came about was the tulle.  There is a red side and black side to the design that I covered.  I didn't want to go ALL black or red.  So I pulled out my tool and wrapped it around the sheet of paper and sewed it down.  I like that it cut the color AND gave me some black too.
I cut these flowers out of a piece of the patterned paper AND I used my circle punch to get the black outlined one cut just right.  Yep, I felt productive and creative at the same time!

We REALLY liked Despicable Me or as my youngest would call it "Despicdable me" :)  There were parts for everyone to laugh at.
Well, I'm off for a bike ride with the kiddos!  Thanks for dropping in!  And I hope that you have a WONDERFUL day!

Day late, dollar short?

Never!  Okay so this was the sketch last week for Sketchy Thursdays, I finished it Wednesday night--I didn't have good light, I wasn't feeling that great--I went to bed.  But Thursday I took a picture, yesterday I cropped it and today I'm posting it!  I really liked this sketch, simple to follow.
I busted out the remains of several past Scrapbook Circle kits for this one.  Crate paper--I LOVE you! :) Yes, the heart felt flower is from like ages past....
This fun little flower I bought on clearance at Michael's, I'm proud of the fact that I actually used it in the same week that I bought it!  The journaling was done on the inside packaging of the flower.  The paper itself is pretty cool as it has polka dots on it.
funny thing about this title.  I asked everyone for help, I wanted to something short sweet and to the point.  I got several suggestions, I finally settled on this:
Yes, I know how to spell!  This is more fun! :)

Today is filled with stuff, "hopefully" I will get what I want to done!  AND get some scrappy time too! Ohhh, if you haven't seen, the sneak is up of the February Scrapbook Circle kit, it's yummy!  You can see it HERE.  I have it in my hot hands and can't wait to dig into it!
Thanks for the visit!  I sure hope that your Saturday is FABULOUS!

Sun glasses

5 comments:
Some of my best pictures lately have come off my phone--I think THAT is cool! Saturday before the big meet my daughter and I had our annual Mother daughter date. We went to Denny's then to Ross for some shopping! We scoured the WHOLE store and found a couple of things but we just couldn't pass up the glasses department. Thanks again to the girls at Sketchy Thursdays for another AWESOME sketch and Scrapbook Circle for having a great Jenni Bowlin June add on kit:
Closeups:
For my sun, I cut up one of the journaling cards and added glossy accents--sweet affect!

I used some of my MAD misting skills and used yellow and some extra butterflies I cut with my cricut on my coor'dinations paper.
I'm still getting a handle on the coor'dinations paper--it sure is fun to "rough" up! I also did some sewing on this one too. (SURPRISE!)
I spent the day today creating a slide show for DD class. I added music--THAT was the hardest part! I think it came together well and I'm excited to see what she & her teacher think of the finished product! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Don't you just love when the creative juices flow, you have fantastic product to work with and a FABULOUS picture to scrap? The planets aligned on this one:
This happens to be a picture of my parents. Aren't they cute? I was hoping for some great paper, and the June kit from Scrapbook Circle has it! Yes, I have permission from Lisa to share this with you! :) You are getting a sneak of just a little bit of what the kit entails. On my layout there is October Afternoon, Pink Paislee and Girls' Paperie. I'm LOVING this company! At CHA we met Margie--she is SO fun! And I LOVED all of their product--in fact Lisa ordered quiet a bit of it for upcoming kits.
For these flowers I punched a 2" scallop & 2 1/2" circle (which I then distressed), I then added the two flowers which are cutouts (from another project) from my cricut.
For the center of this flower I used some die cuts from Girls' Paperie. (I distressed but just with water.) (--the fancy pants lace ribbon, doilie- I bought at joann's for 99 cents, pearls, brad, American craft & cosmo cricket is all from my stash)
Thanks for stopping by today! Hope today is a GREAT one for you!
