pinterest food find. Teriyaki chicken-freezer meal

1 comment:
TERIYAKI CHICKEN

6-8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 Cup Teriyaki Sauce
1 Cup water
2/3 Cup Brown Sugar
3 cloves Garlic minced

Add all ingredients to a bag. Once bag is closed mix all the ingredients with your hands.
To cook take out of freezer one hour before dump in crock-pot and cook low 4-6 hrs.

*This time we tried it baked in the oven--yummy!  Not sure how it will turn out in the crock pot, but that will be for the next go around!

*oh and because I can't eat soy I found an alternative at my local Sprouts.  Coconut Aminos Teriyaki sauce.  Linked to Amazon--my local store was less expensive.

golden scholar.

I am so excited to share with you a layout that I made using some of the AWESOME JustNick background files:
There were two backgrounds Simple Circle background and Simple Circle background 2--I resized each to just smaller than 12 x 12.  Then layered each on top of one another--simple to do, what an awesome look that would be on the back of a card OR with different papers!

Thanks SO much for the visit today--sure hope your day is FANTASTIC!!

7vey.

1 comment:
yes you read right, 7vey.  Definition:  nickname given by 8th graders to the 7th graders in junior high.  See you learned you something new today! ;)
 closeups:
I have a confession to make.  I am a very linear, follow the rules type person, if I read somewhere things have to be one way, I seem to just lean that direction in how I do stuff.  So when I am experimenting it’s sort of a big deal!  I took a step back and realized something, I used two different types of metallic colors on this page!  I was sort of a little surprised because I NORMALLY tend to lean toward gold on my pages.  I mixed silver and gold and you know what I am TOTALLY okay with it.

Challenge yourself today to do something, out of the normal for you!  You might surprise yourself with the results! ;)  Thanks for the visit--make today FABULOUS!

*for my page I used the Hello, Hello kit from Scrapbook Circle.

numbers and cards.

1 comment:
Seems like FOREVER since I have shared a few cards here on my blog, don't faint! ;)  I had a blast using the hello, hello kit from Scrapbook Circle for these two fun cards:

Both of these cards were made from the scraps left over from my pages this month--LOVE when you can still make something cute from the left overs.  That tells you that the kit was AWESOME!!

thanks SO much for the visit today, I really appreciate it!

pinterest food find. paprika chicken and rice--freezer meal.

1 comment:
PAPRIKA CHICKEN AND RICE

1 pound chicken breast
15 ounces cream of celery soup
1 cup water
1.5 cup instant rice
2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon pepper

Combine all ingredients in bag. Thaw in fridge when ready to bake. Bake in pan uncovered at 400 for 40-50 mins until chicken is cooked through.

*I really liked this one--REMEMBER to take it out of the freezer BEFORE cooking!  Good flavor, I was a little nervous about the instant rice, I used brown and it was really good!  Hardly any leftovers, my parents came to visit and the 1/2 cup that was left was eaten right up!

savings saturdays. ad matching

1 comment:
Ad matching--Pain?  Maybe sometimes, but for me I like it.  I have done add matching at Best Buy AND Walmart.  (sorry if you don't have these stores, maybe your area has a similar option?)  There are catches to both.  These are MY experiences:

Best Buy add matches to Amazon when it is SOLD and FULFILLED by Amazon.  Also, they add match to box stores when the items are in stock.

Walmart, they are getting better.  Cashiers now have an app on their phones to DOUBLE check your add match, making sure it's not a screen shot of something.  This also is applicable to food ads for other grocery stores.  So NO more carrying all those ads around trying to remember where the spot is in your ad you want to match!  Also, in my area they now carry their own brand of milk that runs $1.99 ALL the time (just learned this, a  few weeks ago)

GOOD luck with your Savings!

photogenic.

1 comment:
If you are visiting me from the Scrapbook Expo blog--WELCOME, it's always fun to "meet" new people and make new friends!  For those of you that don't know I was asked by the incredibly talented Paige Evans to create something especially for the Scrapbook Expo blog, here is my layout:
I took these pictures of my sweet friend's daughter--she turned 16 and had the most amazing party! Think of the old dating game show, of interview questions and not being able to see the contestants.  The "winner" was her first date (funds provided by her parents).  They disguised the voices of all three of the boys-whom she knew.  HILARIOUS!

this particular page is part of an album that I have been working on as a surprise--this girl is SO beautiful and seriously PHOTOGENIC!

The products I used where a mix of things from different places, but the scallop cut is from HERE.

Thanks SO much for the visit I really appreciate it!

the beginning.

1 comment:
I wanted to share a page I made for Back to School that went up on the Just Nick blog a few days ago:
 closeups:
I fell in love with this particular cut when I first saw it and was pretty excited to use it.  If you notice in the shop this cut is square--I changed the dimensions to make it fit my creation size 8 1/2" x 11".  I then cut it out.

I then wanted to back it with different pieces of coordinating paper.  Where do you find THAT many pieces?  I went to my drawer of 6" x 6" paper pads and grabbed one I thought fit!  I then used the cut out pieces as templates and traced on the back and cut just larger than the lines.  Yes, it took a while but was SO worth the effort!

I figured that the different pieces of paper and cut that I used were pretty expressive so I wanted to keep the embellishments simple.  I just added some sequins and other things that were lying on my desk and that was it!

here is what the original cut; Geometric Background looks like:
So fun right?
Thanks for the visit today!  Hope you have a wonderful one!

pinterest food finds. ranch chicken/pork chops--freezer meal

1 comment:
Okay I have discovered the wonders of Freezer meals-preparing ahead freezing and then pulling them out when I need them--AWESOME!  I even bought some special little stands to help in the process, they can be found HERE.  These help when you don't have an extra set of hands to hold the bag up for you!

I've tried several different recipes, only one has gone in the NEVER again pile, some others were good but not worth repeating for my family.  So in the next few Sundays I hope to share with you the best of what we have tried SO far-enjoy!

this recipe can be for either chicken or pork chops, this time we used chicken:

RANCH PORK CHOPS

4 pork chops
Ranch seasoning dry mix packet
1 can cream of chicken
1 can water

Place all ingredients into bag. Toss, knead, and flatten bag to freeze.
Directions: Thaw overnight in refrigerator. Cook in crock pot for 4-6 hrs on high. Serve with mashed potatoes and corn.

*I cooked this in the crockpot, it got a little too cooked but the flavor was delicious and the family says to PLEASE do this one again!  I also liked that they gave ideas of what could be served with this dish.

props to: Jack, Janessa, and Ashton for this awesome share!

Scrapbook Circle sketch.

1 comment:
I LOVE working with sketches--takes the THINK out of where do I place my picture?  where do I put the title?  This month's Scrapbook Circle sketch from the talented Diana Fisher is awesome:
Here is my take on it:
 closerup of the corner:
I pretty much kept to the sketch this month.

Mom moment: These pictures crack me up--my boy is getting SO tall.  He is nicknamed STRETCH  by his grandparents (my parents)--I had to stand away from him and standing up on the curb while he was down below--it's not like I'm a midget or anything it's just hard to focus! ;)

All of my product came from the main Scrapbook Circle kit Hello, Hello, and the SOLD OUT add on HERE for the pieces.

Remember to play along the is a FANTASTIC prize up for grabs--go to the BLOG to find out more! Thanks for the visit today!

senior.

UGH!  Where has the time gone--my baby girl is at the end of her public school career!  No, I didn't think this wouldn't happen it just happened faster than I would've liked!  We have packed and continue to have adventures forming memories and strengthening family bonds.  One of my favorite things to say is GOOD TIMES, even when it isn't a good time because well, it is a time. :)
I created a page of the first day for my girl, using the September Scrapbook Circle kit, Hello Hello:
I have been inspired a few times to do this to my background--LOVE this affect.  I had to mentally break it down to recreate it.  This is what I did:
1.  For my background piece that I sliced (puzzled) I originally cut it to 8″ x 10″.
2. I then placed it in my trimmer and just began cutting random pieces.  Stacking them up so they wouldn’t get lost.
3.  After I cut all the pieces I assembled them back together again on my main sheet, like a PUZZLE making sure to leave space between so I can see the main sheet of paper peaking through.
4.  I then adhered them to the background, just tacking it down so that I could then sew it.  I sewed my pieces right down the middle.
5.  After I sewed the pieces on I then adhered my layered matted photo.
6.  I then bent the edges of the puzzled pieces up to give some dimension.
7.  I then looked at my page and realized I hadn’t done any journaling.  I decided to just journal down the thread!
Thanks SO much for the visit--I truly appreciate it!

Savings Saturday.

1 comment:
okay, I have been wanting to blog about this for a while but wanted to wait until I had enough material to share.  I am not sure how long my Savings Saturday series will run but I want to share some things I do to save $$, some tricks you might already know some maybe new--WELCOME!

Today I want to start by talking about an app I found called Ibotta, I ran across it when I googled how to save $$.  I was seriously VERY skeptical that you could actually earn any $$ at all.  I want you to know that I try to be honest in my posts, so this is MY experience with Ibotta. You the buyer get paid by rebates-they are instant.  Ibotta keeps track of how many rebates you have used and when you reach the $10 mark you can "Cash Out" through PayPal or Venmo, you also have options for gift cards--I like the $$ in my bank account.  In 3 months I have earned $40.45--that might not seem like a lot but it adds up!  Some cool things I have observed:

* rebates can be for ANY brand in some cases
* rebates are for name brands in others
* rebates are for things I am ALREADY buying.
* I can use paper coupons AND these rebates.
* I like Walmart receipts the best because the phone scans the query code and uploads without prompts.
* I have used rebates for milk, eggs, dog food (ALL generic coupons but can be used on ANY product)
* I have used rebates for $1 and $10
* it does take a while to earn that $10 when the rebates are small but KEEP at it!

The app can be found in the App store for Apple products and I'm sure in the app stores for your phone.  I'm not certain if it's in other countries you would have to check.  Please read the reviews and decide for yourself if you want to use it--I took my time...remember SKEPTIC!

If you want to join my team here is my referral code:

slgjfnl

from what I understand when you join my team we can work together to unlock more bonuses which equals more $$.

To unlock your rebates you either take surveys, answer questions or watch a 20 second video--EASY peasy!

TIPS:
1. Scan your items as SOON as you get home.  Sometimes you use the items or loose the receipts!
2. WATCH the details on the rebates--ex: sometimes its a dozen eggs and not ANY eggs
3. make your list and capture your rebates BEFORE you go shopping--this is how I do it and it seems to streamline the process.

GOOD luck with your savings!  And thanks for letting me share!

sunshine & happiness.

1 comment:
BABAAM! (catch phrase from Good Luck Charlie--disney program; seriously LOVE that show...)  Can I tell you how much I LOVE this title?  I have three cuts from the JustNick studio on here:
 closeups:
1. Sunshine & Happiness:
2. background Twilight Zone 1, and Chain Reaction.
This picture was taken on our last HURRAH before school started back in July--we were in California for a soccer tournament, and enjoyed the downtime with family and the ocean!  I even got a fun picture of my 3 crazies--they really do like each other, and they are now ALL taller than I am.  Although in my daughter's case it's like 1/2"....

Thanks SO much for the visit today--you awesome for stopping by!
