pinterest food find. Teriyaki chicken-freezer meal

1 comment:
TERIYAKI CHICKEN

6-8 boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 Cup Teriyaki Sauce
1 Cup water
2/3 Cup Brown Sugar
3 cloves Garlic minced

Add all ingredients to a bag. Once bag is closed mix all the ingredients with your hands.
To cook take out of freezer one hour before dump in crock-pot and cook low 4-6 hrs.

*This time we tried it baked in the oven--yummy!  Not sure how it will turn out in the crock pot, but that will be for the next go around!

*oh and because I can't eat soy I found an alternative at my local Sprouts.  Coconut Aminos Teriyaki sauce.  Linked to Amazon--my local store was less expensive.

pinterest food finds. ranch chicken/pork chops--freezer meal

1 comment:
Okay I have discovered the wonders of Freezer meals-preparing ahead freezing and then pulling them out when I need them--AWESOME!  I even bought some special little stands to help in the process, they can be found HERE.  These help when you don't have an extra set of hands to hold the bag up for you!

I've tried several different recipes, only one has gone in the NEVER again pile, some others were good but not worth repeating for my family.  So in the next few Sundays I hope to share with you the best of what we have tried SO far-enjoy!

this recipe can be for either chicken or pork chops, this time we used chicken:

RANCH PORK CHOPS

4 pork chops
Ranch seasoning dry mix packet
1 can cream of chicken
1 can water

Place all ingredients into bag. Toss, knead, and flatten bag to freeze.
Directions: Thaw overnight in refrigerator. Cook in crock pot for 4-6 hrs on high. Serve with mashed potatoes and corn.

*I cooked this in the crockpot, it got a little too cooked but the flavor was delicious and the family says to PLEASE do this one again!  I also liked that they gave ideas of what could be served with this dish.

props to: Jack, Janessa, and Ashton for this awesome share!

pinterest food finds. frozen breakfast burritos

1 comment:
This recipe is fairly simple--honestly I did my own thing.  I made my own type of breakfast burrito with what I like to put inside.  My burritos were actually from leftovers of what I made for my kids in the morning.  After assembling  I then froze them--I can tell you these have come in SO handy!  My burritos aren't that large because I use the cook your own tortillas from tortilla land and they are smaller--but this is still a delicious breakfast!

Ingredients

  • 3/4lb bacon (I used a pound of sausage)
  • 12 eggs (I used 5)
  • 1 can of green chilis
  • salt & pepper
  • hot sauce, to taste (didn't use this.)
  • 8 large (8") flour tortillas (mine are like 6")
  • 1/2 - 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (I didn't measure I just added to my taste)
  • 1/4 - 1/2 cup salsa (optional)--I wanted this to be fresh so I didn't add but dipped later.

Directions

  1. Cook bacon in a large skillet until crisp. Drain on a paper towel, then chop into bite-sized pieces. Set aside.
  2. Crack eggs into a large bowl, then season with salt, pepper and hot sauce. Whisk until well beaten. Heat a large skillet (could use same skillet as bacon) over medium heat, then spray generously with non-stick spray. Pour in eggs and scramble until set, but are still glossy. Remove to a plate and set aside.
  3. Lay tortillas on a clean, dry surface. Divide eggs and bacon between the tortillas, then top with salsa and cheese. Fold over the top of each tortilla, then fold in the sides, and continue rolling to form a burrito. Wrap individually in plastic wrap, then freeze in a large freezer bag.
  4. To reheat: unwrap and discard plastic wrap, then wrap burrito in a paper towel. Microwave for 1-1/2-2 minutes, or until hot.
