Prom girls.

1 comment:
I have to confess I LOVE flowers.  I love them on pattern paper, as embellishments, shapes–you name it, I gravitate toward it!  So when I saw the Doodle Daisy background I HAD to use it, and that was even before I knew what I would use it for! 😉  I looked through my pictures and found some of my daughter and her friends at Prom-their dresses matched the paper in the kit and the cut was perfect!
I wanted to use something fun and whimsical for the title so I used the Simple Set Alpha.  I cut everything out in white card stock and sprayed it with Color Shine to match the colors in the picture and paper.  I love this combo!
Thanks SO much for the visit today!!

love this sunset.

Today I am sharing my last layout I made for JustNick Studios:
For this layout I used the Funky Striped background, and the Script Font to create my title.  I cut the background out of cream card stock then backed it with different pattern and vellum paper.  I then took my water colors and colored just where my picture would go.  As you can see I tried to mimic the sunset.  I also painted my title with my water colors.
closeup:
there are a few things that I just love about this layout:
* the picture
* came together quickly!
* got to use up my stash.

thanks SO much for the visit today!

life is amazing.

1 comment:
Today I wanted to share one of my last two pages I made for Just Nick Studios.  For this layout I used two cuts: shattered Polygon, and Life is Amazing.  For the Polygon I adjusted it to fit my 8.5 x 11 page--really like how it gave interest to the background.  The title was also cut out in white card stock but I painted it with water color to get the pop of orange.
What I love about the papers on this page is that they were all from my stash.  It was fun trying to figure out what worked well together.

This picture is of my niece and her adventure feeding ground squirrels when we were in California a few years ago--so fun that I had my good camera out taking pictures!

I'm off to enjoy the day--thanks for stopping by.

Prom.

2 comments:
well here I am the second day of summer!  Phew the last few weeks have been a FLURRY of ACTIVITY with my daughter's end of the track season, Prom, graduating and deciding where to go to school.  Sure is nice to feel the calm after the storm, amazingly my house doesn't look like a tornado has hit.  ANYWAY, I would love to show you a page that I created with 3 cuts from JustNick Studio, closeups first.  I really wanted dimension without the distraction of colors so I decided to cut my digital cuts in white cardstock.  Because I cut them on white textured cardstock I had the option of letting the "flat" side be on top or the textured.  I decided to use both!  If you look closely on the flower you can see the alternate sides:

 My page:
JustNick Studios teamed up with Fancy Pants-I LOVED using the bright bold colors in the Attwell collection they went really well with my daughter's dress and the black suit of her date.  I really like how this page turned out!
I used four cuts on this page, they were STEMS, STEMS 2, SPIROGRAPH 3, and BASIC FLOWERS.

we are family.

I LOVED creating this Mother's day themed page for Just Nick Studios.  I wanted this page to be as special as the picture on it.  So I took my time and looked through the wonderful cuts and my patterned paper for the "right" mix.

closeup:
I am really pleased with the mix.  For my page I used three different cuts.
I'm always surprised with how you can make an image look a little different just by the type/style of paper that you use.  One more note on my layout, as I was creating my page-I wasn't really "liking" the look of my background paper against my dream catcher cut, so I decided to paint the background with gesso.  That is EXACTLY what my page needed, a little lightning up!

Cards for JustNick Studios.

1 comment:
Cards are SO much fun to make.  I loved using my supplies to create these fun little cards:
I used the Card Sentiments 3 by Just Nick Studios.  I sized them each to fit the front of my card face, then cut out of kraft card stock and then painted with water color.  I finally adhered the cuts to patterned paper and then to my card face.  The last thing I did was embellish with some fun things I had in my embellishment drawer.

Here are the closeups of each card:
thanks SO much for your visits this week!  Have a FANTASTIC day!

Prom-1992

So as you can see by my post dates--life has been BUSY, but AWESOME!  Have a graduating senior, busy with track, and the end of the year GOODNESS that comes along with all of that!  Seeing as it's Prom season around here I thought I would share a page that I created for the JustNick studio design team.  I found these polaroids in a stack my mom handed me a few weeks ago--YEP!  That's me:
I loved that I could use this unique Spiral background and awesome Shattered Alpha on my page (it was cut in vellum).
Thanks for the quick visit today!  I'm off to a Golden Scholar award convocation--NEVER a dull moment here at the Waite house--Chao!

Reindeer

1 comment:
oh how I love the cuts from JustNick Studios!  The new Reindeer Head cut made me think of nature, and I had this amazing mixed media from Jillibean soup to work with.  So I thought--why not?

as you can see I adjust the cut to fit on my wood piece making it wider and taller--seriously LOVE this!

I seriously love the sparkly red against the wood--this paper I purchased at Hobby Lobby and is quite thick.  I had to run it through my silhouette on double cut twice--and YES, I had it on the correct setting for thick glitter paper--it's THAT thick!  I decided I wanted it to pop so I added pop dots all along the back of it.
I wanted to share with you that JustNick studios is running a campaign until the 18th--check out the BLOG for more information and your free cut of the day!

grateful.

No comments:

For my layout today I featured a picture I took this year of my dad on his birthday with two of my kiddos.  Even though my daughter was only there for 15 minutes we took the time to snap a picture.  Can you tell grandpa is pretty proud of his oldest grand daughter, and she thinks he is pretty okay too?  And then there is my goofball youngest...PHOTOBOMB! When I think of families I think of quilts.  Quilts are intricate and colorful and each one is different.  With that thought in mind I used the Zig Zag background.  For the hearts I used the Basic Hearts, and the title I used the Gratitude file cuts.
Here is a closer look at the title work:
I want to thank you for the visit today--I REALLY appreciate it!

remember.

1 comment:
Seems like I'm doing A LOT of remembering around here! ;)  For this fun layout my theme for JustNick Studio was REMEMBER.  So, I looked on my desk and found this picture that definitely REMINDS me it's time for a new family photo...it's like 5 years old or something...
closeup of the 5 cuts I used on my page:
The five cuts which I used were  Remember, Sweater Weather, Basic HeartsDoilies and Simple Scallop files.  Phew!  I just LOVE how they all came together--don't you?!
thanks SO much for the visit today--I REALLY appreciate it!

I seriously loved working with the cuts from JustNick Studio cuts for this layout:
closeup of the title and background:
this was one of those serendipidious layouts where all the paper, and embellishments were at my fingertips and the creative juices were flowing.  The background cut is called Scribble Circle, and the Remember is from a group of cuts called Word 3 released today!
Nicole makes the best cuts--please go check out her shop HERE.

Thanks for the visit today!

this is awesome.

I am so excited to show you a masculine layout I created using 3 of the fantastic cuts from JustNick Studio:
I used the All boy cut:
and finally the Retro Squares Background:
here's a closeup of the title work on the page:

I am really happy with the results--I think that my favorite part of using cuts is that you can resize them to what you want--which leads to limitless possibilities!
Today happens to mark the day that this boy becomes a teenager--where did my little baby go?  Time sure flies--LOVE hanging out with my kids so it must have flown when we were having fun!
Thanks SO much for the visit today!
