lolli- banner

3 comments:
I made this lovely banner as an entry into the Lily Bee Designs DT call a while back. Obviously I didn't make it but I LOVED how this project came from my mind to fruition:

all the products--minus the tulle tie--is from Lily Bee Designs.
I've got two sickies now. The first one was driving me nuts (he felt better and was wrestling with the dog--NO fever--on Tuesday) I sent him back to school yesterday. He woke up with a fever today! The other one came home with a fever and sore throat. WHATEVER this is I've had enough! I feel bad for the kiddos because they just don't feel well.
Thanks for all the notes of concern. They're taking naps and being quiet today, good thing we have two dogs--they are doing their job of comforting--pretty sweet.
Thanks for stopping by! ENJOY your Thursday! :)

tip of the day & Happy President's day!

4 comments:
I wanted to share my tip of the day that I did for Scrapbook Circle today:

Yes, I LOVE flowers and was so excited to create this quick and easy one.

So, today is President's day that means a day of for the kiddos for school. What to do? Well, their rooms are HORRIBLE, so I promised them if they got them cleaned we would get to do something special. We've been cleaning for 2 1/2 hours...ugh! (they get so distracted....) Anyway, we are almost down to the time when we need to leave and I can proudly say they are working as a team to get DS room clean. What are we doing? We are going to see The Tooth Fairy with Dwayne Johnson (the rock) it looked really cute and I'm sure we will enjoy it. They still don't know...the suspense is so exciting! :)
I Hope you are enjoying your day and making fun memories!

Hello--welcome to smoothie Friday!

10 comments:
Yes, we have smoothies, EVERY Friday morning at our house. It seems to be the "magic" to get the kiddos out of bed on the last day of the school week.
So I found out yesterday that my page that was in the you judge thing at Creating keepsakes, didn't make it. After patting my eyes and eating a large bowl of ice cream I got to work on these, the teacher's valentines.
**WARNING Picture heavy**:
Bo Bunny paper, sticker is Bazzill, heart stickers cloud 9, Bazzill border, stickles....
Back side, I placed the end of the mailbox over the part that I wanted to cut
The mailbox is pretty small--it was from the dollar bin at Target. I measured the opening and cut out envelopes and cards from my cricut (I used the wild cards cartridge--thanks mommy!) it was set at 3 1/2". The borders on these cards is a combo of pre-made borders and some I used my scallop punch from fiskars.
The heart on the love card was also cut with my cricut (doodlecharms) and the love was cut too (Home accents). It is set on pop dots too. I distressed the edges of all the cards and the mailboxes, just slightly.
Here is the Fancy pants paper mailbox:
After I took this picture DS came home and wanted me to add stickles to the outside of the box. I did do that to these pre-made cards, don't know if you can tell from these pictures. I measured these cards and cut out envelopes for these as well.
cloud 9 paper mailbox:
The pink glitter paper I've had for at least 3 years, it's so pretty! I was hording it for a great project--I think it worked perfectly.
the chipboard hearts were by a company named pressed petals, the gummy glittered hearts are from cloud 9. The XOXO stamp I bought at Michaels this year for $1. The little hearts I cut from my cricut and embossed, they are popped up on pop dots.
What always amazes me is that I had the mailboxes done on Tuesday, the kids came in after school and I told them they needed to pick one for their teacher. They didn't come in at the same time but there was NO fighting once they saw the choices. This seems to happen every time I made something for their teachers. Thanks for sticking with me and this LONG post. Hope your Friday is FANTASTIC!

XOXO garland

5 comments:

I made this cute garland on Sunday. It was so quick and easy! This isn't an original idea, but it sure was SUPER fun to make! (this also happens to be my tip of the day at Scrapbook Circle today....) For the instructions:
1. First I cut my shapes. The larger hearts were cut at 3" (for the backing) and 2"(for the inner part). The letters were cut at 1".
2. I then cut my circles, some are cut at 1 1 /2" & some are at 1 1/4".
3. I ran my Kraft colored circles through my crimper.
4. I set up the order in which I wanted my pattern to go.
5. I set my sewing machine to a straight stitch and began to sew. **to make sure there wasn't any bunching I pulled the end straight. ** Also in between each shape I let the needle go up and down 4 times--to give some space.
6. After I had everything together I glued on my buttons and letters.

Thanks for stopping by today! I'm off to take a nap, whatever this is I have just won't go away. Hopefully a good nap will help! I've gotta go to the dentist AND to soccer practice tonight with the kiddos.

Love Notes

5 comments:
I have to preface this, this idea is not new BUT my 7 year old wanted something at home that we could share some notes to each other during the month of February. I bought this mail box (it's sort of like chipboard covered in white)--And I can't remember who the manufacturer is!--at my local scrapbook store on the clearance table. Anyway, this came together quick and easy, under and hour.
I just measured the width which happened to be 6", wrapped my paper around measured then cut it. For the front I just laid it face down and traced, the same with the flag. The edge I measured with my ruler and wrapped it measured and cut. I distressed the edges. The letters I sanded and distressed and topped with stickles.
I was in Target and FINALLY got my hands on some of those $1 mini mailboxes--per my DS request--we are going to be covering these for the teachers and doing little Valentine tags. Should be fun, and I want to involve the kids more with that so we will most likely be using the cricut to cut. They pick the shapes and love to push the buttons.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a GREAT Saturday!!

Teacher's aid--graduation gifts

4 comments:
so, yesterday I worked on gifts for youngest DS teacher's aids (there are 3!)  They are really simple but I really like how they turned out.  I printed the pictures at home at 2 x 2 size, and then cut tags with my cricut.  The mattes that the pictures were on are also cut from the cricut.  One of the best parts!  I used up ALL of an old kit I had.  Because there were only 14 kids in his class I was able to use 8 sheets of Pattern paper.  Once the tags were cut, I mounted the
pictures on them and then glued them together back to back--it made them more sturdy---I then stamped their names on scraps.  The cool thing I took from the project for the teacher the things that each of the kids liked and wrote them in.
For privacy sake I only am showing the pages I did of my son...
I REALLY enjoyed the process even though it took me a while.  I came up with various ideas in my mind when I make more of these!
This is one of the gift bags that I made for the teacher's gifts:
again the paper are from scraps, and the thanks was cut with my cricut.
I got a graduation announcement from one of my 'old' Young Women (I used to work in my church's youth group--it's called Young Women)  I made her this journal:
This FABULOUS paper is DCWV!  Couldn't believe the stack when I saw it.  The lined paper I figured out how to do and print on 6 x6 paper.  (I'm telling you MACS ROCK!!--this one sure is making things so much easier!)  The big K is from Basic Grey, Ribbon is fancy pants I think..the letters are Scrap Works.  I've gotta run for now, sorry I've been a bad blogger.  I've been busy with end of the year stuff for my kiddos and making stuff!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

organizers...

No comments:
In an effort to make room for my new computer, things had to moved around and yes, cleaned out!  Feels like I collect more stuff everyday, (doesn't help that when my family sees a clear table they have to bring me their things and put it on there!)  Anyway, I cleaned off my french board and realized I had a bunch of birth, graduation, and wedding announcements that I really didn't want to throw away.  But how to store them?  I didn't want to make a scrapbook, then I remembered a organizer that I had made for cards a couple of years ago.  I saw the instructions HERE, and the gal even e-mailed me the PDF file to print off for myself.  It saved my bacon and I ended up with a couple of cute organizers in the process. (I am going to work on the baby one this weekend...hopefully....we have a busy weekend with soccer pictures and games)  So here is what I came up with:
Supplies used:
pattern paper: SEI
Wedding letters: Making memories
Grads letters: American Crafts
Bind-it-all

I'm still getting the hang of this computer (yes, I made the switch from a PC to a MAC, and I really like it so far!)  and how to find my pictures, so I am pretty proud that I found these tonight! :)  Thanks for stopping in, I will have pages to share tomorrow, the lighting is horrible right now, and I am SLEEPY!  I spent ALL day cleaning for guests and they aren't coming.....at least I have a clean house, AND dinner was ready and waiting when we got back from scouts!  Makes me feel complete, and tired! :)  Good night!
