sewing
distress ink: Ranger
number 2: cricut
letter stickers: making memories
Thanks so much for stopping by!

Z for zebra, D for duo distress, and F for four flowers

3 comments:
Boy, this week has been another scorching, busy one! I've managed to make a few more cards for the ABC summer crop at My Sketch World that I wanted to share:

Z for Zebra: create a card that is ONLY black and white. I've never done that before, it was fun! My butterfly was already stamped so I added jewels and perfect pearls.
D for duo distress: create a card that uses two forms of distressing. I actually used three....I distressed with ink, with a paper distresser, and my birdie with sand paper.
F for four flowers: create a card with at least four flowers. I LOVE flowers...I went CRAZY! I even stamped!
I only have to complete a few more layouts to reach the goal of 15 letters completed to qualify for the grand prize drawing. Being as today is A LOT less quiet than last week I plan on doing just that!
It is Saturday, so I need to get ready for Sunday, make sure church clothes are clean and laid out, ya know....the normal drill. Thanks for stopping by today--make it a great one!

V is for violet

1 comment:
the challenge for the letter V (in the abc crop at My Sketch World)was make a card using purple as your main color, this is what I came up with:
purple is my FAVORITE color and I only had 1 sheet of pattern paper with purple in it, WEIRD! The flowers are embossed.

supplies used:
pattern paper: DCWV
stamps: autumn leaves, & stampin' up
punches: fiskars
buttons: unknown
sewing

I was pretty impressed getting anything done, I had to take DS to the doctor. We thought he broke his nose, luckily it's just bruised really good, everything is in alignment. Also, I had to take Ella to the vet for her second round of shots. Thankfully it was a much better experience with her than Dakota the miniature schnauzer.
Well, I am hearing the timer going off for dinner. Thanks for stopping by!

Journal & flowers

5 comments:
We were invited to my niece's sweet 16 yesterday, this was the invite:
this is the bag that my 11 year old DD made (the flower is a hair clip)
I used my cricut for the lettering and crown:
And here is the journal, I couldn't believe I made it in an hour. That was all the time I had...I didn't line the paper this time. (I think I will do that for future journals too, just takes so long to get it all lined up ready to go!) I REALLY like how it turned out! I decided if she didn't like it I would keep it! :)
these are hair bows that I made for DD birthday party (we did a make and take) this week, the one on the far right was attached to my nieces bag...
Just showing dimension of the flowers:
It's been a crazy busy week, hopefully I'll have more items to share next week....

Two more cards & a crop

5 comments:
for the ABC crop at My Sketch World:
The challenge for this one was J-jewels. This picture really doesn't do justice to the beauty of the blinginess of this card. I started at the crop last night but it just wasn't flowing the way I wanted so I left it in my bag to percolate....then I remembered I had some PERFECT ribbon. (funny how that works)
supplies used:
pattern paper: Basic Grey
punch: martha
stewart
rubon: american crafts
jewels: westrim
stickles: ranger
flower: handcut
distress ink: ranger
sewing

For this card I was inspired by THIS card by Beatriz Jennings. The challenge was L-lime green and lace. I even used my cricut for the butterfly, it's on the Paper Dolls dress cartridge-the angel wings. My sewing machine was not wanting to cooperate, SO glad I didn't make huge holes into the paper!
supplies used:
pattern paper: basic grey, creative imaginations
stamp: hero arts
butterfly: cricut paper dolls
ribbon: unknown
glittered flower: melissa frances
button: from an extra off one of my shirts :)
antenna-pins: fancy pants
sewing

Last night I was invited to a alumni design team crop for a local store here. It's going out of
business, SO sad and surreal at the same time. They gave me my BIG break, it's sad to see them go. That being said we girls sure had fun laughing and catching up. Good to see you Tina, Rebecca & Julie! Love you girls!
I don't know that I got all that much creating done, but I did get papers cut for another project that I am going to be working on--it's still in the developmental stage so it will be a while--
I need to run have to clean the house and make some cookies! Thanks for stopping by! Hope you are having a productive FUN Saturday!

REal quick....

6 comments:
I actually made something! My sketch world is having an ABC crop (it's all month long go check it out!) and one of their challenges was to make a birthday card. Yeah! I was in SERIOUS need of making some. I used the FANTASTIC kit from Scrapbook Circle for this one:
I used my Cricut doodlecharm cartridge, and distressing ink. I ended up making 6 of these bad boys! Talk about assembly line....
Life has been kind of sleep deprived lately kiddos started school (excitement there) AND we got a new little four legged friend:
she's a sweetie, her name is Ella. Dakota our miniature schnauzer is wondering why we brought this little thing home....it's pretty funny....
Thanks for stopping by! Hope your Friday is a GREAT one!

Tuesday..today...

2 comments:
Okay, this is a ramble day (my own kind of twitter)....

--Remember this CARD? It happens to be the one that made the top 10 at 2 sketches, it was excepted by Basic Grey to be in their gallery! I just found out last night, WOOHOO!

--we are on the countdown for school and the natives in the house are getting restless, not looking forward to the schedule BUT the teasing and don't touch Me's will lessen HOPEFULLY....

--it was like 114 degrees yesterday, DISGUSTING!!

--I have to go grocery shopping today--with three kids, do I have to? I guess if we want to eat I do, DANG!

--I sure hope I get to do something scrappy today, just don't know what it will be yet. I bought some Nestabilities for the first time yesterday.. looking forward to playing.

--We had a VERY tasty dinner last night, if I do say so myself. There was basmati rice (you can buy it in the grocery store, it tastes a little different than long grain), fried plantains, tasty black beans, and Pabellon Criollo (Venezuelan dish--Venezuela is where I served my mission) I'll have to share recipes later on.....

I appreciate you hanging in there and reading the ramblings.....it's quiet therapeutic to write them down, at least they aren't rolling around in my head!
Hope you are having a FANTASTIC Tuesday!

like cool! Field day...

My sketch world is having an ABC crop, and this was their first challenge:
A is for Ad challenge, here is the ad:
and here is my layout:
I was SO excited to use up this paper, I've had it for a couple of years. And in my clean out of things I found these WONDERFUL white sequins (for the clouds). AND I used up a little of this and that in the embellishment department. And DS really likes this layout--BIGGEST bonus of all! One more thing for the collage effect I went over to Scrapbooks etc. and sort of perused their 'collaged' layouts and made my own.
Hope you are having a FABULOUS Monday! Thanks for stopping by!

supplies used:
pattern paper: American Crafts
bling: westrim, kaiser
sun & clouds: Fancy Pants
sequins: westrim
letter stickers: American Crafts
splash chipboard: Basic Grey
like button: American Crafts
cool stamp: Michaels craft store

Speaking of cards here are a sample of my Christmas cards I finished on Friday (yes they look like THESE, they were so fun to make I had to do like 60 more!):
Sure was fun to play and think of cooler weather....
Oh, one more toot about a card. Remember this ONE? I won a card challenge at My Sketch World! All in all I'm on a card high! Thanks for letting me share my toots with you! :) --I know I have little boys and had all brothers---Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a FANTASTIC Sunday!

My Sketch World August Guest Designer

4 comments:
I was invited to be one of the August guest Designer's at My Sketch World. The layout was so fun to work with:
Supplies used:
cardstock: Bazzill
pattern paper: Bo Bunny
ribbon: unknown
glitter glue: Stickles-Ranger
letter stickers: October Afternoon
snowflakes: cardboard
snowflake: Cricut
distress ink: brick red-Ranger
ink: Versamark, close to my heart

*for the snowflake I cut the shapes from my Cricut. I traced the snowflake on the back of the cardboard, then cut them out. After I cut them out I CAREFULLY took the the top off inked, embossed, and then put stickles on top.*

Fun fact that we learned from the news last night. This July was the hottest it's ever been in AZ. 31 days of over 100 degrees, and 27 days of 105 degree weather! THANK goodness for air conditioning! I appreciate you stopping by-thanks so much!
