on a roll....

1 comment:
I just have to tell you this April kit is to easy to work with!  I blasted out another layout this afternoon in about 30 minutes!  I love that these pictures were finally scrapped!  (I know these are only from the beginning of the year but...it's like that itch that needed to be scratched.....)
This is a closeup of the fun flower made with the pom pom trim and a punch.  Isn't it funny how sometimes those old tools take on a new life?
this is totally random and not scrap related.  young dear son came home and his fingernail came off!  Yuck!  Okay, it didn't just fall off he smashed his finger about 3 weeks ago?..can't remember the date but it was nasty....well, yeah I had to swallow the urge to hurl and help him and then put a band-aid on it.  Brings back memories of when I smashed my finger in an oak door when I was about his age......doing this today reminds me of why I never went into the medical field.....
thanks for stopping by today, gotta run to soccer practice...woohoo!!

**Warning--proud mama post!**

1 comment:
We had our first pinewood derby this morning, DS placed 4th out of the 20 boys in our Pack, his truck won best paint job, and yes there are rubon flames (I had to use my mad rubon skills to get them on....)  I was so nervous and excited for him, DH and others have been working on his car like MAD and it was so fun!  He was a little disappointed not to win the whole thing, but plans are in the works for next year's car.
Isn't he just a cutie?
This is my favorite picture of the kiddos together watching the races....
DD soccer team ROCKED it today!  They played their nemesis and played well and showed good sportsmanship during the game.  DD did several headers, one was an assist to a goal.  It was such a surprise and amazing our parents ERUPTED with joy.  I happened to catch her in one of those moves.  (notice the braids, I did them!  I was pretty proud of myself.  I haven't attempted to do her hair like that in forever because it's so fine.  But her hair has gotten thicker and she liked it!)
We're off in a while to my Baby brother's birthday party.  It's been a full day already, but SO fun!  Thanks for stopping by, and for reading my PROUD mama moment! :)

The last couple of days it seems that the mojo REALLY hasn't been gellin' ya know when you try and do something and it doesn't work for you?  Well, I went a peekin' at two peas in a bucket and Scrapbook Circle gallery and got my eyeballs full of candy!  I made a card this morning and this layout (all the pattern paper for both projects was free one way or another....gotta love that!)  Here ya go!

I only mention Bolt because we are watching it for the second time in 2 days.  My boys cleaned their rooms just so they could watch it!  Great movie for Family movie night.  Thanks for stopping by today!

April kit SNEAKS from Scrapbook Circle!

No comments:
Holy CUTE!!!  Check out what Lisa did: SCRAPBOOK CIRCLE
I just have to tell you she is one of my IDOLS.  And I'm so glad that Girl Friday and the Fancy Pants line are included this kit ROCKS!!
She says in her post that she only has a couple of spares so if your interested I would snag those babies!  I hope to do some creative things today!  I went to Joann's last night armed with my 50% coupon, but everything I was interested in was on sale for 40%!  Ah, well.  I did find some surprisingly cute DCWV paper!  And it was 50% off, I got the new spring glitter stack, citrus stack, the green stack, and nana's nursery baby girl (I do baby albums and this is just so precious....)  I think I was just so taken with the paper because they were so fresh and bright and fun.  Usually those stacks are the same ones they have had for years.  And they each reminded me of some of my other favorite companies like SEI, Making Memories, and Sassafrass.  I've got to run but I just had to share the sneak! Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a FABULOSO day! :)

My daughter Alyisa and I had such fun playing along with the 2 sketches 4 you blog.   I followed Kazan's sketch while Alyisa had fun doing her own thing.  The card I made is for a friend who has Breast cancer.  I hope to be able to give it along with the gift I made tomorrow.  Thanks so much for stopping by and looking at our cards.  I know my daughter will appreciate any compliments. :)

supplies used:
Swiss dot cardstock: Bazzill
letter stickers: American crafts,
Brads & metal: Making Memories
pearls: Kaiser
pattern paper, ribbon, breast cancer tag: Melissa Frances (not sure for Alyisa)

I have a friend who found out she had Breast Cancer in January, she just started her first round of chemo last week, in honor of her, I made this book so that she could chronicle her journey:
supplies used:
pattern paper, ribbon, stickers, and tags: Melissa Frances
pearls: Kaiser
glitter glue: stickles
cardstock & borders: Bazzill
letter thickers: American Crafts
die cuts: Cricut (storybook)
punches: EK success
ink:cat eye
other: sewing
the book I used I have had for a couple of years and actually cut it apart because I knew that I would have bulk, so I added the rings.

Please ladies remember to do your self check and get those mama grams!  Don't mean to be on a soap box but my friend has no history in her family of breast cancer and she is VERY fit.  Being educated and aware is the best solution!  Thank you so much for visiting today.

Race to Witch Mountain

1 comment:
Went with the family Friday to see this, I REALLY liked it!  There was a story line, action, AND I was entertained.  I LOVED the fact that I could go with my whole family.  They updated the characters a bit from the old witch mountain movies and changed their names.  And the cool thing?  they left it open for a sequel....
I have been working on crafty things, one is a book for a friend who recently found out she has breast cancer.  I'll share when I get that done.....
It's spring break next week so we will probably do a lot of playing outside while the weather is SO nice!  Thanks for stopping by!

funny things kids say.....

No comments:
I have to preface this that we have been watching our fair share of the A-team according to my 6 year old it's my FAVORITE show.....(ummm, it's HIS favorite show....), Also at school they have been talking a lot about the president.
with that said.....
Sunday, the kiddos were watching a little tv in the morning and young DS comes running in so excited he can hardly speak, "mom!  it's Barak Obama,  it's Barak...." Being curious at what had him so excited I went in and looked at the TV, it's an infomercial....it's Mr. T!   I gently corrected him and said, "son, that's Mr. T, not the president." :)

**I had a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde at my house this morning, she looked harmless but  boy howdy, I was REALLY glad for school today!

** I just ordered from my FAVORITE spice company, Penzeys Spice, yummy!  Makes all the difference in the world when you have tasty herbs for your dinner.  My favorites: Italian Herb Mix, and Cake Spice.

**Spring is great, I love being able to open my windows all day long and enjoy the smell of blooming orange & lemon trees.

** New shoes sure make a difference!  I had sore feet, ankles, and knees yesterday after going to the gym.  My shoes were like a year old...worn out.  Got new ones yesterday and I am happy to report, no sore feet, knees, or ankles...

** changing a water filter on  the fridge is a pain, I've decided that I will just wait until DH can come home...

** I'm so tired, we stayed up late watching our DVR catching up on shows....ugh, wish I could take a nap!  Not going to happen though to many things going on....

Sorry this isn't the most exciting post I hope to create today....I have the new sketch from 2 sketch for you sitting on my desk on a post-it, and some fun old Scenic Route paper to play with....Thanks for stopping by! :)

I was able to play at Dixie Pieces today.  I got another sketch from Donna.  I was so happy to use some of my many card scraps:
I was able to layer up and stamp.  I know believe it, I 'm not much of a stamper but had fun using my mom's close to my heart stamps.  I also got to use my birthday bazzill flowers, this really was fun.  I wish this picture would do it justice.  I also use my cricut to cut out the scalloped oval (thanks again Heather).

supplies:
pattern paper & cardstock stickers: basic grey
stamps: close to my heart
flowers & brads: Bazzill
lace ribbon: wright
glitter glue: stickles
scalloped oval: storybook cartridge Cricut

Busy busy!

No comments:
I've been cleaning and creating today.... (I did do the tip of the day at Scrapbook Circle for my fun flower) I do have some things to share but not quite yet.....I have some fun sketches on my desk that I hope to play with tomorrow...

Today is DH birthday today, and I've tried to get things cleaned up out of the way, have a roast in the crockpot, going to peel potatoes, made a cake-need to frost the cake now, make kool-aid, and get the table set.  We have soccer tonight so I'm trying to get everything done before we have to go, so I won't have to stress when we get home.  I'm hoping this makes sense, I'm just typing what comes to mind....I still have to wrap his gifts, but I think I will let the kiddos do that because I'm sort of tired..... :)
More tomorrow!

CHA

No comments:
I was playing just now with the FABULOUS March kit from Scrapbook circle and came up with this:
It came together pretty quickly because I used a sketch from Jan 2009 at Page Maps (I LOVE sketches, makes life so much easier.....) These pictures are a year old and needed to get scrapped before I forgot what went on, and I have this year to catch up for CHA.  This Pink Paislee paper is so fun harder to work with because of the larger flowers, but it's great all the same.  My flower in the middle was to large for the center so I cut off the excess petals and put the friends sticker in the center....
I went on a field trip today with DS to the Science Center, I only had 2 in my group and we got to look at all the things we wanted to.  It was so nice to just go at the kid's pace and not feel like we had to rush.  And don't ya know I took my camera with me!  DS tried to tell me I didn't need to because the teacher was going to give me her camera to take pictures.  Well, I had both but a few times I just gave it to the boys to take pictures of things.  They loved it, and it was nice to delegate.....
I need to got it's movie night and the kids have started Open Season 2 without me! I hope to be able to play tomorrow but it's full of soccer and I hope to get some chicken canned (I need the space it's taken up in my freezer...)  Thanks for stopping by!

Ride

2 comments:
I got to play yesterday later than I wanted (because of a change in computer, laundry, and....well you get the picture....)  My layout was based on a sketch by Donna at Dixie Pieces:

I LOVED this paper.  I bought it last year some time, not knowing what I wanted to do with it.  Then Scrapbook Trends sent me the matching ribbon (my thank you for the Holiday edition) I love it when a plan comes together!  I hand cut the frame, and the flower.  The other flowers, butterflies, and flowers were cut from the Cricut Storybook Cart.  (thanks Heather!)

other supplies used:
pattern paper & ribbon: SEI
cricut: Storybook cartridge
lace ribbon I bought at Walmart
chipboard letters: Heidi Swapp
jewels: hobby lobby
other: sewing

This was DD first ride on her new Christmas bike.  This is my mom, DD, and I (there is a dog too but she is hidden by the bikes)
Didn't get much time to play today.  Had to organize photos, burn them, and do stuff for Scouts.  Hopefully later on! :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Lee's Fruit Triffle

No comments:
Oh, my this is yummy!  I had to share this, I made this Sunday to go to my mom's and it just makes my mouth water thinking about it!  It's one of those recipes where I have no control and need to share with others so I don't make myself sick!  So here we go:
1 package french vanilla pudding
1 container cool whip
1 Angel food cake
(these are to your liking)
red grapes
bananas
strawberries
kiwi

Make french vanilla pudding as directed.  Mix with one container cool whip, break up angel food cake, slice strawberries, bananas and raped  Layer cake fruit then pudding in clear dish or trifle bowl to the top make a design with kiwi.

Apparently I don't follow instructions well because I just throw it all together and mix it up.  I'm really not fancy and it tastes just the same, it's just so nummy!  And did you know (if you are concerned about sugar intake) that there is a sugar free cool whip, AND it tastes the same.  AND when I went to Walmart they had a sugar free french vanilla pudding.  I was pretty excited because I have a brother who has to watch his sugar intake.  (I'm rereading this, how sad is it when you get excited at the grocery store?)  Thanks for stopping in.  And if you are curious I try and label my recipes that I post.  So if you click on the recipe at the end of the post it will take you to all of the recipes I have posted in the past.  ENJOY!  Thanks for stopping by!

Well, Hello!

No comments:
I got to "play" this weekend a bit at Dixie Pieces online crop.  I completed 3 challenges and played 2 games.  We were SUPER busy this weekend.....
Not so sold on this card, we had to do spring colors, butterflies, die cut flower, and the word Spring.  This paper is VERY old (7 years?)  Anyway, I found it and decided to cut it up.....
I LOVED how this monochromatic blue card turned out, and the paper is all scraps, the flowers are Bazzill, rubon is deja views.  I got this idea from Kandis Smith (love her cards!)  Sure was fun trying to find all blue things...
now this last one, I REALLY like how it turned out.  The pattern paper and the Bazzill commanded attention, so I toned them down a bit, the Bazzill with a little distress ink and the pattern paper needed to be covered a bit.  This challenge was a bling it up challenge.  A challenge?  Nope I LOVE bling, and all of these supplies came from the March kit at Scrapbook Circle!  (did I not tell you the kit was FAB?!)
Well, I am off to bed I think to read a bit, I am reading Keeping the House by Ellen Baker, my super designer friend Jen Davis suggested it.  I'm liking it so far...Thanks for stopping by!

PS I forgot to mention!  My Ipod is ALIVE!  Have no idea what happened but it works again!  Yipee!
