silent night, 1976

Today I got to share this page on the Scrapbook Circle blog.  But first I wanted to talk about the picture that I used, it is a picture of me at the age of 3 playing Mary.   (a tradition that we did for several years.  My brothers were Joseph, the wise men, and the donkey.  I only have two older brothers so they had to play multiple parts.)  This picture is a treasure to me because I can actually remember doing this.  This particular picture is not the original picture, I scanned the original and touched it up.  It was shot in the 70′s so the color was just a little faded and off.  I then printed it at 3 x 4, which is smaller than the original picture.  I wanted the focus to be stay on the picture so I decided to scrap it at 8 1/2″ x 11.
The cuts on this page are from my silhouette cameo, I made them myself.  The star was downloaded from the silhouette store, I created a box and then just copied and pasted the star 12 times.  I guesstimated how many stars I would need because of the dimension of the box.  To create the other star next to the title I measured how big I wanted it to be and created the larger star, then I copied and pasted and made the other star smaller inside the larger to create the "shadowed" star.  For the title I took to different fonts, again measuring the area that I would be using.  Created the Silent out of the font, ball park and the night out of the font, Avenir Black, then melded the two together and cut.  (I saw a very similar title in the studio but you could break the star away from the title and I wanted them to be cut from two different papers.)
This page was made with the new kit from Scrapbook Circle called All is Bright, the papers are versatile enough to use for pages and creations other than Christmas--SUPER fun!
Thanks SO much for the visit today!
