well, here ya go:
I used Cosmo Cricket for everything except the letters. And those would be making memories & American Crafts. This was such a fun layout to do, thanks to a sketch from Pink Sketches.
It's been a busy week between practice, homework, games, church activities, scouts, a puppy, and just life!
Tonight we have another night soccer game, woohoo! That means only two for tomorrow! Looking forward to having some fun, last game was SO exciting! Girls playing so well on both sides, it's just so fun to see how far these girls have come.

Happy Birthday to Me?!
I just have to tell you this was such a FUN layout to do about me. And this paper has been sitting in my stash waiting it's turn, I finally figured out what I was going to do. Scrapping out loud is having a challenge to use handmade flowers on your layout. "I could do that" I thought, so here we go:
Journaling reads: 36, I look pretty happy huh? This was after breakfast in bed & lunch with mom & dad at Geicko grill. But before the family sick fest. Fevers, puking on the carpet. Ben & I didn't get it. So he came with me to Joe's BBQ for my free meal. I deserved it! And NO I didn't share....
supplies used:
punches: fiskars
pattern paper: Scenic Route, My mind's eye
jewels: westrim & prima
handmade flowers, sewing
embellishment & card: Jenni Bowlin
stamp: Heidi Swapp
rubons: Fancy Pants
lettering rubons & heart: Maya Road
lettering chipboard: American Crafts
lettering stickers: Making Memories

So Sketchy Sept #10
This is my take on the Sketch #10 at So Sketchy:
it came together once I figured out my pictures and papers! :) Yes, I used the Scrapbook Circle September kit, so FUN!
I finally got some good sleep last night even though I had a disturbing dream about ants. I thought about it and remembered watching Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull, if you've seen it you'll understand. And yes, I try not to watch REALLY scary shows because um....I have an active imagination-even without trying!
I'm sort of excited DD has her first soccer game of the season tonight! Yipee! Tomorrow we will only have 2 games to go to (for the boys).....and we'll have the rest of the day!
Thanks for stopping by! Gotta do some dishes and go to the gym--hope you have an AWESOME day!

Apple Valley Grad
What I just finished:
Everything is from the September kit from Scrapbook Circle. (excluding the lettering, pearls and chipboard flourishes) Love that these pictures are DONE! I have a slew being sent in the mail as I type. Sort of kicks me in gear to get the pages movin'!
So I've started a new book it's called, The Hour Glass Door by, Lisa Mangum.
I've only had a chance to read the first couple pages, so no opinion yet.
Did anyone watch the finale to America's Got Talent? I was so happy, that Kevin Skinner won, it was just so fitting that the singing chicken catcher won. DH and I were totally routing for him. Gosh, there were such touching stories!
And how about the first episode of the Biggest Looser?! I was TOTALLY crying...you've got to read their bio's, WOW! I get so excited for these people who really want to change their lives, I feel like a cheeleader at home.
Anyway, I'm off running! Thanks for stopping by today!

Pink Sketch #45
I've tried something new with my pictures. Not only are they organized by person in my tin, I have another picture holder that I place several sets of pictures ready to be done. (By sets I mean pictures that are taken of the same thing....sometimes it could just be one picture.) This other picture holder is like one of the coupon holders, having only a few pockets....I have like 4 sets ready to go. These pictures were from two years ago and the last of my sets. I was SO excited to get these done, middle DS just did the same thing. So now I need to do his too, but at least I got them done!
*excuse the rambling, if it sounds like rambling....I'm running on fumes of sleep and my brain misfires....*
supplies used:
pattern paper: lily bee, pink paislee
stickers: pink paislee & Jenni Bowlin

Speaking of Twilight...
I found this page that I didn't share from the ABC challenge at My Sketch World, it was G--for glitter:
notice how weird my L looks? I didn't have any L's left I used a 7! I also just grabbed inside of my ziplock embellishment bag and came out with brads & rubons I've had FOREVER! The paper is also Christmas & Valentine paper.... I was happy to finally scrap these pictures AND use up my stash! Thanks so much for stopping by! Hope you have a good one!

where in the world have I been?
here, there, and EVERYWHERE--crazy! If you are looking for pictures, I don't have any....yes, it's going to be a ramble post! Woohoo!
First of all have you heard of Pandora.com ? it's Internet radio BUT it make your own station! you put in a group you like and they create a whole set of music just for you! you get the first 40 hours free a month, but once you use that up it's like a minimal fee (this all according to my big bro., it's SO COOL!)
It's birthday week in my family....SIL birthday yesterday, nephew's birthday today, DS birthday tomorrow. yes, we are partying up! I STILL need to frost the cupcakes for the party tonight! This is the recipe I'll be using:
"PERFECTLY CHOCOLATE" CHOCOLATE FROSTING 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine 2/3 cup HERSHEY'S Cocoa 3 cups powdered sugar 1/3 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Melt butter. Stir in cocoa. Alternately add powdered sugar and milk, beating to spreading consistency. Add small amount additional milk, if needed. Stir in vanilla. About 2 cups frosting.
So yummy! so much better than frosting in a tub!
Soccer games start Friday night. I'm sort of excited to only have two games on Saturday, still the practice schedule is going to run me ragged! M-F!! Games on Saturday...the Friday practice for my 6 year old we are going to skip, so it's only M-TH but still. I'm delegating some of the responsibility to DH. Only fair right?!
I'm hoping to play sometime in my life this week, Ella the puppy is up for her rabies shot tomorrow. Woohoo, then we can get her licensed. Oh, I lied here's a picture of her looking at her first mule, she wasn't sure what it was:

Scrapbook Circle is having a Card challenge contest!
(as taken from Scrapbook Circle blog--Thanks Stacy!)
{September 09 Card Challenge Contest}...a prize is up for grabs!!!
How about a card challenge contest girls??? Do I have any players??? I know we have some fabulous card makers out there!!!
& yes, Miss Lisa has agreed to put a prize up for grabs!!! (she will be posting a photo of the prize next week) Thanks Lisa :o)
If you know me at all, you know that I LOVE working with sketches...so, I chose a PageMaps CardMap sketch from June 2009 for your inspiration:
I love this one because I could incorporate several patterned papers and the design is clean & simple!
I decided to create a "Thank You" card, as one can never have enough of them on hand! Here's what I came up with:
I used Jillibean Soup pp's and a journaling sprout from the August Kit here at Scrapbook Circle. As you can see, I followed the sketch VERY closely! For the contest, you can change it up however you see fit; rotate, substitute an embellishment or element, etc. The sketch is only meant to INSPIRE :o)
Here are a few closeups:
In order to create the upper left circular element of the card, I chose to cut out a circle from the Jillibean Soup patterned paper. I thought it would be fun to use as the base of my flower embellishment.
Here is the upper left corner of the card with the flower & brad layered over the Jillibean Soup circle...
The Jillibean Soup journaling sprout came with printing on the other side, but I chose to use the blank side for my "Thank You" sentiment, stamped in red.
I used an eyelet & some embroidery thread to attach the sentiment to the card & it was done! Super simple & easy...but I really like the finished project!
Supplies: June 09 CardMap White card base-unknown Jillibean Soup pp-hot water (both sides), mixed veggies (both sides) - AUG KIT,Jillibean Soup-journaling number sprout - AUG KIT, Stampin' Up-eyelet-Night of Navy, Spare Parts by The Paper Studio-silk flower & brad,Embroidery Thread, Machine zig zag stitching,Stampin' Up ink-Real Red
The RULES & fine print: Use the CardMap sketch above to create a card of your own with your choice of supplies. Post your creation to your blog, then post a comment to this post with a link back to your blog. Better yet, upload your creation to our Scrapbook Circle photo gallery & note "Sept 09 Card Contest" in the title of your photo upload. Either way, you will be entered into the contest which will run until September 30, 2009. A winner will be randomly chosen and announced on October 1, 2009. (There's no fine print...I was just kidding about that part!)
So, let's get those creative juices flowing & get some fabulous cards made! I can't wait to see what you come up with!!!

S- for stitching
Okay, I'm just so excited I could use this paper and it was pink. When I first looked at it all I could see was the green, what to do with it? Then I reorganized my pictures and found these of my DD and her last season of Soccer, PERFECT! The challenge was S-stitching...something that I do on almost EVERYTHING.
I even used my NEW stamps from Jillibean soup! They're SO cute!
Thanks for stopping by! I gotta run and go do laundry.....
supplies used:
pattern paper: Basic Grey
stamps: Jillibean Soup

layout, and lovely profile of me....
I just have to tell you, I 'm SO glad that I FINALLY did this layout! Not so in love of the picture of my face as my son is pinning that thing on me. (I had no idea my hubby was taking a picture of me, and I was trying not to freak out that my son was pinning something on me!) I love how random it turned out! And all the lovelies except for the the #3 were from the August kit at Scrapbook Circle, LOVE it!
Thanks for stopping by today! Make it a good one!

Calzones
I made these last night, they were a hit! I thought I would share them with you:
2 Tbsp. yeast
2 cups warm water
2 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 cup oil
2 tsp. salt
5-6 1/2 cups flour
optional filling choices:
mushrooms
pepperoni
sausage
shredded mozzarella cheese
olives
pineapple
start yeast 5 minutes. Add other ingredients. Mix until well blended about 3 minutes (I use a kitchen aid mixer) Rest dough 30 minutes. Divide dough into 12 equal parts. Pat into 7 " circle. Fill with choice of filling Carefully fold over filling; pinch edges to seal. Let rest 15 minutes; brush with beaten egg (I used egg white). Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
The fun thing about these are they are FILLING! Each of us had one, (they were all varying sizes because well...I can't cut dough evenly....) there was enough for everyone to take one (the kids took halves) in their lunches today, and STILL have leftovers... this was my first time ever making calzones, it was fun, a little work, but SO worth it! Enjoy!

E for Event AND Scrapbook Circle news!
This was my take on the challenge E at My Sketch Wo
rld (the crop is over but I haven't share my pages!):
I love the quote that says, "my mom says, I'm awesome. Therefore it's true." DD picked that out for herself off the sheet. I was so excited
to use all but one of the pictures from her field day on one page (it was a duplicate really....)
I sanded the letters a little...(they were to bright for the page)
I'm hoping to get another layout done today. I sure appreciate you stopping by! Hope it's a good one for you!
supplies:
all came from the August kit at Scrapbook Circle!
I happen to know that the August kit is sold out BUT the September is not! It's fantastic take a look:
yum! Also, I know that Lisa has put together a SPECIAL EDITION Halloween kit for October--this is on top of the October kit! It's so exciting!! I can't reveal to much but I can say it has some Basic Grey! When I have more info I'll let ya know!
