My family

Last night there was a CRAZY loud thunderstorm--woke me and hubby up, then there was hail.  I was SO glad to be inside, it will be interesting to go our and explore the damage.  You see in Arizona the trees are don't have a great root system, and sometimes after a lot of rain and wind they will be blown over.  WHOLE trees, most of the time branches, and all the time leaves.  It was wonderful yesterday I turned off my air and left my windows open, except for when the rain came in!  I even drove my car with the window open!  FINALLY it's cooled down!
Alright enough about the weather I wanted to show you this layout I made.  Simply put I LOVE it!  I used the Fantastic October kit from Scrapbook Circle which has TWO pieces of the Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology paper.  The doilies are embossed on the paper.  CRAZY cool!  So my inspiration came from this sketch--I flipped it.
A couple of fun tips.  first about the picture.  I order my pictures through snapfish and have NEVER tried the collage feature.  I wondered and was happily rewarded with this picture when I said collage on a 4 x 6.  I trimmed the sides so it would be even but SO fun.  Incidentally these pictures were taken in 2003 with my self timer, SO funny now--NOT at the time, but we sure look happy to have our picture taken!

2nd tip, as this paper is beautiful and fun I was worried that I was going to screw it up.  So I looked through my distressing ink (you can distress, paint, and mist on this paper--there is a COOL video on the HERE)  Laid out the 4 colors I wanted to use and went to town, old paper, scattered straw, brick red, and antique photo.  I started with the lightest color and worked it over the entire paper, then just kept adding ink--SO addicting.  And wonderful results without to much effort.  The red border and flowers are also Pink Paislee Parisian anthology which you can ink--I just used my red and let it dry.
The only things on this layout that aren't included in this kit are the letters.

The morning is going on without me, need to wake up some boys and make some chocolate chip pancakes.  Thanks for stopping in!
