To create

No comments:
I read this quote on Rhonna Ferrar's blog today and just had to share:

"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul. No matter our talents, education, backgrounds, or abilities, we each have an inherent wish to create something that did not exist before.  Everyone can create. You don’t need money, position, or influence in order to create something of substance or beauty." Dieter F. Uctdorf

Totally true!  So create!

Who I saw at CHA

4 comments:
Okay, I promise this will be the last post about CHA!  But I didn't want to stuff all those pictures in one post! (like I said in the previous post those two days were SO long!)  When we first walked in there weren't to many people so you could actually check out booths and see the scrapping "celebrities".  So as we were walking by I would say oh, there is Heidi (Swapp), there's Tim (Holtz), (like we are good friends or something!)  The blogging world has opened up the world
so much.  I would see designers for specific companies (Maya Road & Making Memories for example) and say to myself (because at this point Jennie and Lisa were probably tired of me saying oh, look who that is!) I know her!
We did see Emily Falconbridge (she works for Creating Keepsakes), CD Muckosky (2006 Creating Keepsakes scrapbooker of the year, Layle Koncar (scenic route) but I didn't get pictures of them.  It was sort of funny because we saw CD in Target before the show.Wait!  who's that?!  Me and my girls Lisa is on the right Jennie is on the left, we are sporting our Making Memories aprons, Maya Road Stickers, and We R Memory keepers shirt (I was wearing it like a cape....) You are to wear these items and you could win a prize!  yeah, we didn't win a thing!  But we did get really cool aprons!:)  And they kept us warm, the building was chilly....
Heidi Swapp working with her new masks.
Me and Teresa Collins (picture taken by my new friend Christi)
This is my designer friend Lara Ellingson she designs for Dream Street papers her line is right behind us, it's called MJ, so CUTE!
You know I have the force!  I HAD TO get my picture taken with these guys, DS who is 6 thought this was SO cool! :)
This is my friend Michelle Devine she just had a line come out with the paper element (it's right behind us, it's called My favorite pieces, a portion of the proceeds goes to autism awareness.
This is us after the electrical fire that had us outside for about 5 minutes, don't ya just love self portraits?!  At least this time I didn't have a double chin! :)  Thanks for coming to visit!

Welcome home

No comments:
so CHA we did a quick 2 day trip.  We were talking about it on the way back that it seemed like we were gone for like a week!  I guess my kid's felt that way too, I drove into my garage and was greeted with this:
If I knew how to blow it up you would see that the letters are glittered over.  (my daughter like me loves BLING!)  Made my heart smile when I saw this.  Just had to share.....

Back from CHA!!

5 comments:
Woohoo!  We had a great time at CHA, we decided to drive, which was a good thing because our bags were SIGNIFICANTLY heavier!:)  The show was smaller this year than last year, and there was definitely less people walking around which again was great because I actually got to do some great make and takes and touch and feel some great product!  (sorry I'm not trying to make you feel bad....)   What was sad for me is that neither Scenic Route or October Afternoon were there....hopefully we will figure out what is going on there....
Paris Hilton was there, my friend Jennie squeezed up and got a look at her but there were WAY to many people in the way for me, I just saw her body guards.  Sorry, I didn't even stop to get a gander at her product either.....
On the second day we were there, the fire alarm went off!  It wasn't to bad because we were only outside for about 5 minutes....
I know, I know you are waiting for pictures!  So here we go!
Fancy Pants (they pretty much ROCKED the house!)  Pretty much everything they came out with was amazing!  Scrapbook Circle upcoming kits will have a little bit of each of these:
Summer Soiree
Delight
On A Whimsy
Me and My Big Ideas:
American Crafts (this is just a sampling of Craft fair, it's SO cute! Some of this will be in kits too.  And the thickers are material, like a corduroy.):
Daisy Bucket:
This ribbon is not paper, it's material.  It's pretty neat you can rip it curl it and tie it, just don't wash it! :)
Their monster line is SO dang cute!!  We are trying to work it into something!
The shapes are actually large chipboard and you can design them (obviously) how you want too.
in the meadow
Perfect Harmony
Playful petals
We R Memory Keepers:
These stamps will retail at 99 cents and the ink is $3.99!
Pink Paislee was also one of my favorites:
Maya Road:
love the gears and dinosaurs.
some of their new stamps:
Making Memories, had several new items but somehow I only took a few photos:
their new wedding line.
This picture doesn't do justice to how pretty these butterflies are.
Heidi Swapp really didn't have to many new items but we did order one of the resist sheets....
Heidi is demonstrating one of her new masks.
Here is one of her chipboard resists.
Dream Street:
Some how I didn't manage to get a picture of Cosmo Cricket, we REALLY liked all of their paper lines too!  4 kits were planned and ordered so there is definitely WAY more than I could show here.  But it sure was fun, tiring but fun!  I have more pictures of people I met but it will have to wait for another post! :)

So much to say and only one hand to type....

2 comments:
got my February kit from Scrapbook Circle yesterday!  Woohoo!  Seriously, it's so SWEET!!  Filled with fun Valentine stuff go check it out here: Scrapbook Circle.
I'm off to CHA tomorrow!  Wooohoo!  I'm pretty excited to go see the new goodies that CHA brings, and I get to hang out with my girlz!  I am definitely taking LOTS of pictures and will share!
Lastly, I had surgery on my finger yesterday, it was sort of a surprise.  I had a pyogenic granuloma. (you can google it and see just what my finger looked like **warning it's NASTY**)  They are sort of a mystery but they grow fast and fairly common.  All I have to say is that  I am counting my MANY blessings: DH such a good guy patient taking me to my appointments :) My kiddos-they have really been great, getting me water, fixing their lunches, and drawing me pictures like this:
insurance, ibuprofen (much better than what the DR. prescribed that stuff makes me all clouded), and the fact it was on my finger on my non dominant hand!
This post took me so long to write!  thanks for being patient....
Hope you are having a FABULOUS day!  Until next time!

Dinner last night

1 comment:
So I was watching Family Feud with hubby during his lunch break for work....and I saw this commercial for Campbell's soup, it had a picture of Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo.  Looked totally yummy!  That's what we had for dinner last night.  Here is the recipe:

1/2 to a lb. of linguine (I used angel hair spaghetti)
1 cup fresh or frozen broccoli flowerets
2 Tbsp. butter (I didn't add this because my chicken was canned)
1 lb. skinless, boneless chicken breast, cut into 1 1/2" pieces
1 can (10 3/4 oz) Campbell's Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

Prepare linguine according to the package directions.  Add the broccoli during the last 4 minutes of cooking.  Drain linguine mixture well in a colander.

Heat the butter in a 10" skillet over medium-high heat.  Add the chicken and cook until it's well browned, stirring often.

Stir the soup, milk, cheese, black pepper and linguine mixture in the skillet.  Cook until mixture is hot and bubbling, stirring occasionally. Serve with additional Parmesan Cheese.

*Okay, for my tips: when I make this again I will double the amount of the sauce and broccoli, (I used 1 lb. of spaghetti)The sauce was tasty but there didn't seem like there was enough.*

EVERYONE ate it with no complaint so this is another option to just plain old spaghetti in my house! :)

Scrapbooking....

2 comments:
I just had to share this.....I read this in the editor's note in my February Creating Keepsakes....

"Studies demonstrate that showing a child pictures of herself raises her self-esteem.  So just think about the confidence you build in the lives of everyone you photograph-----and scrapbook about!"

Isn't that what we all want to give our children?  Self-esteem?  I love that my albums are now down and in an open area so that my kids can look at them to their hearts content (and they do).  Hope everyone is having a most FABULOUS day!

2 photos 2 looks

2 comments:
I finished these layouts last night around 11:30pm! (I was "watching" Agatha Christie's Miss Marple and I had to see how it ended.....)  I was pretty excited that I was able to use some of the  FABULOUS Sassafrass Lass paper.  I bought it last year in May, I loved it but I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with it.  I am happy with the layouts, I like the look of layering but don't feel like it comes naturally.   I even had my guys do their own journaling (before they went to bed of course!)

Thanks for looking!  Last year I made the goal of making 100 12 x 12 layouts I made it to 71, I am DETERMINED to do it this year!  So far I am up to 4, woohoo!  It's like the little engine that could, I think I can I think I can.....Thanks so much for stopping by, hope you are having a FABULOUS day!!
