So this was my dad's birthday last year--I added pink to his page.  I add sparkles to it too--and guess what?  I LOVE it! ;)  This was a fun day to gather with family--he was SO excited to blow out the candles, he ended up blowing some of the topping off the cake!
These pictures aren't the best BUT I love how they capture my mom in the background (in the second pic) helping him blow the candle out.

For this layout I used the Only You kit from Scrapbook Circle.  I LOVE the mix of masculine and feminine in the kit--also the puffy stickers are AWESOME!  I used one below each of my pictures...
Thanks for stopping by today--hope you have a WONDERFUL day!

No comments:
The only thing I changed about this recipe was I used ground Turkey meat--DELICIOUS!!
recipe/photo credit: Five Heart Home
Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Pinch of crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 1 (24-ounce) jar marinara/pasta sauce
  • 1 (22-ounce) package frozen cheese tortellini
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, grated (about 2 cups)
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 3-quart baking dish and set aside.
  2. In a large pot set over medium heat, brown ground beef and garlic until meat is no longer pink, breaking it up and stirring frequently. Drain fat. Season meat with garlic powder, dried basil, dried parsley, dried oregano, dried thyme, crushed red pepper flakes (if desired), and salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste.
  3. Stir pasta sauce into cooked ground beef. Pour frozen tortellini into a colander and run under warm water for a minute to slightly thaw. Drain and stir tortellini into meat sauce.
  4. Remove pot from heat and stir in half of the grated mozzarella. Transfer tortellini/meat sauce into the prepared baking dish. Top with remaining grated mozzarella and sprinkle with grated Parmesan. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for about 20 minutes more, or until hot and bubbly.

a group of my friends and I decided to do a sprint triathlon a few years ago...I hadn't participated in a competitive events for YEARS like my freshman year in college..  ANYWAY, it sort of wasn't even on the radar to try but with some convincing I signed up for the non competitive portion.  I learned something about myself that I had forgotten, I'm competitive!  But this time I was more competitive with myself--the training was hard but I was ready for the day of the race.  I didn't know what to expect--but I'm glad I wasn't the only one who had NO clue.  I surprised myself and had fun in the process--THANKful for my hubby who was there to take pictures of the event, here is my layout:
For this layout I used the Only You kit from Scrapbook Circle--LOVE the mix of fun papers and embellishments--THANKS for stopping by!

low quality smartphone pics--HIGH quality person in the pics--LOVED hanging out with this super funny kid of mine!
I used the new Only You kit from Scrapbook Circle for this fun page.  I loved the puffy numbers--black and white fun to add a touch of whimsy to the page.  If you can't tell all of the glasses are from the same manufacturer--he ended up choosing the last pair of glasses--on the sides they are colorful and FUN, just like him!
I LOVE creating with non perfect pictures--sometimes those are the BEST because they clearly tell a story compared to the "staged/posed" ones.  DON'T be afraid to create with your pics--recording the moment is the most important!
Thanks for the visit today--I really appreciate it!
