Christmas in August!

1 comment:
Okay, so my kiddos helped out with these cards. We will probably distress, and put sequins on later down the road, but they were so happy with what we got done I had to share. This is the second year we have done this, and truthfully it is a stress reliever. I cut my shapes out from the cricut and do an assembly line and let them have at it! Anyway, here ya go:
all the paper is Imaginisce, buttons are dress it up (I have had for a while, I was glad to use them up!) stamp is Provo Craft, and stickles.

Happy Halloween!

Oh, yes I LOVE Halloween! Not the scare your brains out, but the excitement of dressing up and candy and decorations. And yes....the cute scrap booking stuff! I made some cards using the new Imaginsce line:

Turkey and my cricut

6 comments:
I was playing around with my cricut the other day and figured out the measurements for this little guy:

I made this just using the George cartridge. The plaque I bought at dollar tree last year, but you could use chipboard and cut it into any shape you wanted, and crop-a-dile some holes for your ribbon.

For the measurements: For the body I cut the regular oval at 5 1/2" on real dial size for the head I cut the circle at 1 1/2" real dial size, for the beak I cut the diamond set at 1" on paper saver (I cut the diamond in half), the Gobble part is actually the parenthesis (just one side) cut at 2 1/2" on paper saver, the feathers are cut with the skinny oval, the back feathers are set at 3 1/2", and the front feathers are 3" both on paper saver.

I inked all the edges, and for the feathers I folded them in half to give dimension. I sewed around the body to give him some dimension and hold the feathers down. I loved this because I don't have to many decorations for Thanksgiving, and now I have one more!  I made this for the contest over at BBTB.

So I was in my LSS yesterday and I happened to glance at the magazines and I see this:I said to myself: "self, is this it?" (sort of still in denial) Yep! I flipped to page 69 and there I am! Sort of a surreal experience....I am still waiting for mine in the mail. I did call around to Joann's and Michaels to see if they had it yet, nope! Just wanted to share my exciting news!

Monsoons are here, I love the storms....My creative blogging buddy Rebecca Tresler took these pictures last night, and I had to borrow. The drops of rain for a time were like golf ball size....totally crazy!
I know I haven't posted anything creative lately but I am planning on it later today. I do have a line up of things that I have done and wanted to share!

So this is "THE BOOK" (yes it's still in the box, I just got it yesterday). I wanted to reread all of the others before I did this one, but I lent them to a neighbor and it isn't going to happen anytime soon, so I might just open it today.....I hope there isn't anything pressing that I have to do today.....

Dixie Pieces Splash crop day 3

No comments:
So yesterday I got super creative and finished 7 pages! That makes 10 pages I completed and 2 cards (see previous post). I don't think I have ever accomplished so much in one day! And my kids were great, they helped me peel stickers, give opinions on what I should use. And as my DD would say "stayed out of my hair"--how sweet! Thanks to Dixie Pieces!! Anyway, I won't post all 7 pages but I will share a few:
I really challenged myself to use what was on my desk, (yes I have a VERY messy desk right now!) This Easter layout was all done from the June kit over at Scrapbook Circle, (she sells just paper packs too!)
pattern paper: October Afternoon, & Junkitz
