sports insulated/brag cup.

2 comments:
wanted to share with you real quick a challenge I  shared on the American Crafts blog last week:
How to: Gather supplies to use on the project. Make sure that your supplies aren't too bulky as their is a limited amount of space that it can fit in to. Clear insulated cups can be purchased at craft and hobby stores and online.

I printed my pictures at 2x3" then cut them down to 2x2 1/2". If you are using just one picture you can leave it at 4x6".

I carefully removed the mask that came with the clear cup. Then using a pencil I traced it on my background paper and cut it out.

After I cut it out I carefully folded it and inserted in the cup to make sure everything lined up, and to see which part of the paper would be covered over, I measured about 1/4" and traced a line which I covered with a piece of patterned paper. This let me have a visual of how much space I had to scrap on.

I matted each photo with patterned paper and adhered it to the background making sure to follow the curve of the cut of paper.

I then embellished the "page" with cork stars, sequins, patterned paper, washi tape, punches, and mist. I then sewed on my page to add another layer of dimension but not bulk.
Before placing my page in the cup I carefully rolled it so that it would have some "memory" to be placed in the cup.

I then placed my page inside the space of the cup. This part is tricky but I was patient and pushed slowly.
I gave this fun cup to my hubby--and he LOVES it!  Thanks for the visit today--make your day a GREAT one!!

I seriously had a BLAST with the mists on this background of this layout, I just dropped it on the paged and tilted it this way and that so that it would run down the page, I also spritz some..I want to do that AGAIN!
This picture was taken at a small town picnic..there is a LARGE circle in which everyone parks and eats dinner with his/her family.  After eating you then go around and visit with friends that you haven't seen in years.  It's a fun tradition that we look forward to...seems like most of the time it starts to rain...but we have a BLAST anyway!
this year my sister-n-laws doggies came and my youngest found some "buddies to hang out with!  I used the Bucket List kit from Scrapbook Circle for this fun page.  I loved all the little details of embellishments and stamps--I had a really good time getting messy and creating!
Hey--thanks SO much for the visit today!

There are so many things that I wanted to talk about on this layout...I think it's another FAVORITE!  yes, you can have LOTS of favorites! :)  The background was cut with one of the exclusive cuts from Scrapbook Circle, you can find it HERE.  I cut strips of paper from the Bucket List kit at 1 1/3" wide and backed the different cuts.  I then found a title that fit and cut it out.. For some added interest I misted and added some stitching.  But I think my most favorite part would have to be the journaling RIGHT on the picture:
I know it's not unique to journal on your pictures but this is one of the first times I have done it!  I'm hooked...I just used an ultra fine sharpie and began writing--EASY!
Wanted to thank you for visiting today--I'm off and running! ;)

as you wish....

I had the opportunity to work with a prompt this month from Scrapbook Circle, as you wish was the prompt.  Yes, it made me think of Princess Bride and I scanned through my pictures for the PERFECT picture:
my youngest LOVES to help--especially when it consists of taking things a part!  My hubby was putting up new fans in the house and he asked if my boy could take the old one apart--SURE shoot'n--he grabbed that screwdriver and went RIGHT to work!  He was concentrating so hard he didn't realize that I had snapped this shot while he worked!

Do have to tell you about the title..you can kind of see the black underneath of it...I created my title using my silhouette but I wasn't so sure which color of card stock to use so I cut it with both black and white.  I decided on the white but didn't want to just throw the black away..I placed pop dots on the back of the white and off set it just enough to see the black underneath...SUPER fun experiment you should try some time!

I LOVED using the Bucket List kit for this layout--it's now sold out, but stay tuned for next month's kit--it will be packed with goodness too!  Thanks SO much for the visit today!

top dog dies blog hop!

31 comments:
Welcome to the Top Dog Dies & Scrapbook Circle Blog Hop!

I had the privilege of working with some CUTE Top Dog Dies along with the Bucket List kit by Scrapbook Circle.  These are the sets of dies I got to work with:

I looked at the dies and wanted to something DIFFERENT and FUN, I came up with the idea of a card:
To create a more dimensional look I added pop dots behind the "roof" and fence--I also added mist to the chimney and front door.  This picture doesn't do justice to the fun embossing of the dimensional cuts of the windows, chimney and door.

I wanted to mention some FANTASTIC deals going along with this hop:

summer swim!

3 comments:
yep, around here it's beginning to feel like summer.  I think I must have amnesia--I think I say that EVERY year but remember I have amnesia--I DO NOT like the hot and it's starting to get just like that--UGH!  Ah well--winter is AMASING and summer really isn't that long it just SEEMS like it! ;) ANYWAY, I wanted to share a layout I made with the new #summer line:
I distressed the paper--something I haven't done for a LONG time and I really like the fun feel that the splashes of mist add, just like it was wet.  The overlay was probably one of the funnest elements I added to the page--right over the top of the picture--REMEMBER to remove the plastic off the top BEFORE securing it--OBVIOUSLY I am saying that because I forgot to! ;)
yes, that is silly Ella who LOVES to swim with her kids..she really is funny!
Thanks SO much for the visit today--hoping you are having a FANTASTIC day!!

what I've been doing...

2 comments:
Is watching my kids to this:
youngest doing a fun run...he surpassed his goal of 36 laps and ran 53!
both my boys advanced in their scout classes!  Middle one is getting REALLY close to becoming a Life Scout, then Eagle!!
currently my middle guy is trying the long jump...he's actually pretty good #7 pretty good for a little bit of training....
yep, the girl is playing soccer AND running track...notice the left ankle she sprained it about a month and half ago, in a soccer game...it's healed but she still wears the brace for support...
my middle son does pretty good in the 200 as well...coaching is strange in junior high..will not go into the soap box..just want him to catch the bug because he will LOVE the coaches in high school!
so this psycho kid of mine picked up a new event this year...triple jump..this is her bound in between jumps, first time she EVER made it into the sand.  Pretty exciting stuff!  Now this is a statement of fact (so not necessarily bragging.... ;) but she is now automatically qualified for state AND she happened to win this invitational...umm...yeah her coaches are PRETTY excited!  Truth be told mom too! ;)
yep, she still hurdles in fact she is in the finals of a race today at ASU, sort of BIG deal as there are colleges competing this day (in other heats) which means there are college coaches there WATCHING!  Sort of a nervous wreck--EVERY time my kids go run I get queasy...
yep, this boy played soccer this season too...last night was his last game EXCEPT he was on a campout for scouts..he was a pretty AWESOME defender!
okay, my youngest has found a NEW love (if you didn't know he is in the ORANGE--his FAVORITE color)!  He is TRULY loving Lacrosse, thankfully he finished last month and so we aren't TOTALLY running wild. (he ended just as the other two picked up what they were doing...)

To say that we have been busy around here is an understatement, I LOVE that my kids are active and really enjoy what they are doing...not just spending time in front of MINDLESS video games and TV.  Not saying that we don't watch movies (we just had a Hobbit marathon..in which we all fell asleep last night at 9pm...)
Thanks SO much for the visit today...I promise I'll be back with more crafty things.  I do have to say I was pretty proud of the fact that I CAUGHT up on Project Life yesterday...was behind 8 weeks, but I did it and it felt GREAT!  Have a AWESOME day!

hello. April fools...

6 comments:
April fools day, has always been a curiosity to me..I like a good HARMLESS prank that doesn't hurt peoples feelings.  Like jumping out and scaring people...(I don't like it done to me but it sure is fun to scare people.  I know I am a bit of an enigma but hey--who isn't?!)  I get a little irritated when they are lies...I DO NOT like lying...Once I tried to play a prank on my mom--it was not nice..I got about 3 sentences into it (I was talking to her over the phone) and I just couldn't do it...I felt bad...Anyway, I wanted to share with you a card I made for my blog post a few weeks back on the American Crafts blog it was featuring the DIY line.  guess I'm pretty original with card greetings? ;)
Supplies: 6x6 Paper Pad (366983) DIY Shop, Ali Mistable White (53372) - Thicker, Large Pattern Brayer Set (366607) - DIY Shop, 2" Banner Punch (63117) - Punches, Sequins (36609) - DIY Shop, Wood Venner Butterflies (366618) - DIY Shop, Kraft Scallop

There were a lot of supplies that went in to this fun card, embossing powder, brayer, mist, sequins, veneer, wash tape, punches, banners, sewing and paper--with that all being said can you pick them out?  (like the where is waldo game!)

For this card,  I REALLY wanted to use the polka dot brayer to give a subtle background. I stamped with clear pigment ink, then embossed it with clear embossing powder to make the kraft banner shine!  One other fun touch was that I covered the veneer butterflies with the gold patterned washi tape.  After I ripped the washi tape into small pieces I placed the washi over the butterflies, making sure it was adhered well.  After adhering I flipped it over and cut with a craft knife around the edges.

Thanks bunches for the visit today--hope your April fool's day is full of FUN!
