Eleven--January 2010--Scrapbook Circle kit

2 comments:
This was absolutely so fun to create! Pictures don't do justice to how shiny and lovely this is. I used perfect pearls on the outside edges of this. It REALLY shines. I also flipped it and sewed on the pattern paper, then flipped it and straight stitched the front.
I really wanted to use the cupcake paper on this layout, loved how easy it was to cut out and embellish with my stickles...again hard to show how shiny this really is....
These little butterflies are from a punch that I borrowed from my mommy, thanks mommy! I added stickles, pom ribbon, and pearls from my stash. The rest are from the kit.
Last night went and saw Avatar, it was alright. I think DH liked it better than I did, but I was still entertained. It was just nice to go out and have adult conversation. Do you have any plans for tonight? We are just taking it easy, should be nice and quiet. And I'm perfectly okay with quiet....
Thanks for stopping by today--make it a good one!

scrapbook Circle January 2010 kit!

2 comments:
Can you believe how fast this year has flown by? I must be getting older.....I've been creating with the FANTASTIC January kit from Scrapbook Circle. Here's a picture:
here's what I came up with:
I loved this picture I took of my daughter last year and was saving it for just the right paper. The brads I found as I was cleaning my stash, the pink pearlish on the letters is a combo of distressing ink (worn lipstick) and perfect pearl (by ranger) Here's a closeup:
I also added some bling and stickles, from my stash too:
I did see someone use this same paper and copied a little but made it my own. (it was in the February issue of Scrapbooks Etc.) I do have a couple more projects to share but I need to get back to organizing the house. this is my new beautiful ikea shelf--it took the place of some plastic--VERY tired--rolling carts.
Never fear one of my boys thought the rolling cart was neat and now it's in his room for his crafty stuff. Thanks for stopping by! Make this Wednesday a GREAT one!

Christmas Eve!

1 comment:
Can you believe it?! I'm all wrapped up and ready to go, my kids have pretty much been outta control for like a week and a half...ANYWAY!! I love Christmas! I wanted to share one thing I did for my wrapping this morning:
Super simple, super easy. I bought my bags at Target, and need to get some more, I'm out! I don't know if you can tell but the ornaments have stickles on them.
One last thing I wanted to share:
Merry Christmas!

Christmas Treat bags

2 comments:
This is my version of the treat bags for Christmas. I even pulled out my dusty sizzix to emboss the paper! I know..I'm amazed! With the peace on earth one, I have absolutely NO paper left from the December kit from Scrapbook Circle. That's saying something as there was a TON! It was also the last of the gold ball thingies.
The chipboard is also from the December kit, but the tulle & stickles are from my stash.
I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by and visit me! Have a MERRY Christmas! :)

Busy Elf

Okay, so my family albums are all wrapped up without me taking pictures of them....but I can share these other little fun things that I've been making:
This frame I made for a friend I got the idea from my friend Melanie:
I painted crackle paint on the $5 frame I bought at Walmart. I then sprayed clear spray paint on it so that the paint wouldn't flake off. I also spritz some glimmer mist on the paper glued down this cheery chipboard--glittered it a bit. I tied the tulle on before placing the back on....
I made three of these snowmen, this one happens to be mine:
The most time consuming part was his face. But it was just so fun! I also liked the opportunity to use up some Christmas paper I wouldn't use other wise.... (and yes he looks better in person...)
I needed one more quick gift, I dug in my closet and found another clear paint can (I'm trying to use from my stash instead of running out to the store.... the rub on is something I've had for 4 years. Yeah! The shapes were cut from my Cricut. I was so excited to discover I had a scalloped edged circle!
Lastly, I made these coasters:
sorry, for the quality of the picture it was over cast all day yesterday. They really turned out great! I got the idea from Becky Higgins blog (scroll down to the November 3 post for the supply list.). The wooden coasters I bought at Joann's but you can also find them at Michaels. The paper I already had....
I'm just finishing off some little treat bags today (will share those tomorrow) and the kiddos and I will be working on cookie plates to deliver! Woohoo!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope your Christmas preparations go well and hope that it is Merry for you!

Monday, Monday--Christmas isn't that far away....

4 comments:
REALLY, SUPER QUICK! I wanted to share with you some of the things I've been working on the past few days.
These are for some ladies that I visit:
What's fun is that I have had these little Christmas balls for a couple of years--they were hand me downs from my mommy--Thanks mommy!--They are to decorate little trees. I thought they would make fun additions to this gift. Tulle I bought at Joann's for cheap.....

To the teacher's gifts:
I'm so glad I FINALLY used these cans, they are GREAT! I've had them in my closet for who knows how long, I guess I was waiting for something special? I don't know....
I used scraps of paper, I was so proud of myself.....the chipboard shapes are from the December kit at Scrapbook Circle. I just jazzed them up with some stickles....The cans can be bought at Michael's for like $2.99...I just saw them the other day and was tempted to buy more....I didn't....I used my Cricut to cut out the circle and the star like shape. Ohh, and have you tried Bob's candies? You must find some and try them! I got mine at Walmart, you can also get a LARGE tub at Sam's club. They melt in your mouth....

products used:
punch: fiskars
chipboard shapes: Crate North Pole Chipboard Accents
stickles: Ranger
sewing
cans: stampendous
buttons: American Crafts Flair
die cut shapes: Cricut

Last night was our concert at the Mesa Arizona Temple. It was chilly but the music was great! I have a movie of our concert at St. Anne's Catholic Church:
They had other groups perform as well, it sure was a great time. If you want to skip ahead we are the last group that performed......
Thanks for stopping by! I'm off to make bread, do laundry, wrap presents, and hopefully finish up another Christmas gift! :)

Where in the world have I been up to?

4 comments:
My modem has been acting up so I haven't been able to really get on my computer when I've wanted to and post. I've been a busy little elf working on gifts, my December daily, concerts, cooking, baking, canning......well ya know how the month of December goes!
I woke up to this sky this morning: (6:45 am)(7:15 am):
Makes me feel grateful for this BEAUTIFUL world we live in, and there IS beauty in the desert. I know there is a God with creations like this.

December has been busy like I said. Pictures like this one makes me smile:
he was THAT excited for candy canes. I finally bought them that day. And my boys took turns putting them up on the tree. SO fun!
Saturday we went to a cotton candy party, this year they made HUGE cotton candy! We have friends that do this every year. REALLY fun!
Today my kids and I went to Walmart to get yarn for my DD who has been a busy little elf herself making hats for all of her friends on the hat looms. I decided just to relax, people get crazy shopping....I just wanted to take it slow..... ANYWAY, as we came out of the store we noticed some elderly ladies with VERY full baskets, like 3. I stopped and offered to help them unload. They said yes, and the kids' and I got to it. They were so appreciative, they thanked us and thanked us. I told them Merry Christmas and one of them came over and gave me a hug. It just felt good to help someone, and I KNOW if I would've been in a hurry I wouldn't have stopped. This morning the kids and I were talking about giving service, I didn't put the lesson this morning with this until we were in the car driving away. I told them acts of service sometimes are easy just like that, we just need to stop and give it. The same woman that gave me a squeeze told me, you've taught me a lesson today. I thought, "I have?" Then she went on and said we've been coming to this store for years and no one has ever stopped to offer help. How sad, I was probably one of those people.... So, with that being said, I want you to think outside yourself, possibly give someone else a service. It's not always hard! You can do it!
Thanks for stopping today and "visiting" me!
